Hi, I've modified the unit tester map with the units and upgrades from hots

on the arcade search for "HOTS Unit Tester Online"

I think you can try to replace the dependencies with the real one from file->dependencies in the editor, swarm and swarmmulti should be under add standard and if it works you can publish it on the beta server so everyone can easily use it

I've updated the map dependencies to use the swarm and swarmmulti sc2mod files so you don't need to have a custom made sc2mod or change any dependencies in the map just like this http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=366548

Hi Brandhor, I tried both the editor and starcraft all-in-one, but when I started the map I got this "The launch of this game makes reference to mod or map dependencies which are no longer available."

Edit: ok got it going. Only need to turn off all other user slot

are you sure you are opening the file with the sc2 editor from the beta? it should say that you don't have a license for heart of the swarm but it works anyway when you test it

I had the "The launch of this game makes reference to mod or map dependencies which are no longer available." error too. In player properties, select all other players and under control, select none. I'm having another problem. The game launches, but I none of the buttons respond. I can't make units, I can't start, I can't look at options... But the workers on the right work, which is weird. Do I make both of them user controled? I tried one and both and either way I wasn't able to get it to work. I feel like I'm making a silly mistake.

Edit: Hmm. Played around with it and still can't get it to work. How is the Player Properties supposed to look like?

Edit: I got it! I just deleted all the players, kept neutral, and then added one player for user and one player for computer. One more question tho, how do I make the AI cast storm and stuff like that? I tried using options but it doesn't work.

that error is weird, make sure you are using the hots editor and not the wol one and that you are using the latest version of the map with the dependencies set to swarm and swarmmulti MD5: abd9270d6da5329040d36dc1efe943a9
file->dependencies should look like this

Can we mannually editor this map in the editor to fit the balance updates? I tried to change the Warhound fire rate, but I cannot find the Warhound in the data editer. There is only Liberty.SC2mod in the data source, how can i add the Swarm.SC2mod?

that's because the map is linked to the official swarm and swarmmulti sc2mod, when you open it in the editor it will warn you that you don't have a license for hots so they won't be loaded but when you launch the game it works, if you want to edit the units you need to open the files inside swarm and swarmulti folders with mpqeditor and extract them and copy the files in a new mod created with the editor(I made 1 mod for each files otherwise texture and other stuff don't work) then you need to change the dependencies in the editor from swarm and swarmmulti to your custom mod files

I've updated the map to fix the missing burrow charge, it was a dependency order problem
I don't think there is a way to automatically cast storm because there is no AI, a second player can control the units but you need access to the beta to play online, your best chance is to shift queue storms

battlecruiser ground damage should be 8?(Not sure))
Tempest damage should be 50 against Massive.

I've uploaded the balance update #5 however there are a few minor bugs:
  • I can't remove the possibility to disable the autocast on the unstable payload, I'm not sure how blizzard did it, maybe they converted it from an autocast ability to a weapon even if they still call it like that
  • The oracle's void siphon harvests 3 minerals per second but I haven't found a way to show the resources of the players controlled by the computer
  • the show requirement on the nexus stop ability doesn't seem to work so it will show even without purify

Custom games used to be where "legitimate melee maps" should go, but melee mapmakers loved the Arcade features so much (patch notes, screenshots, etc) that the line has been officially blurred. I think most people will still expect maps that don't conform to standard melee play to be in the Arcade, though.

gotta agree with Urashimakt, I did search for the tester in the Arcade for half an hour before I revisit this thread =.= Need the map on Arcade.

Your void rays need to be fixed, they still do bonus damage to armored.

Thanks so much for this map!! And you should put it in the arcade The other unit testers from WoL are on there and it's also the place I checked before checking TL.

Worked fine yesterday, then got "Dependencies could not be validated" when it was moved to arcade. In case anyone else has the same problem, I fixed this by deleting the Blizzard Entertainment folder from C:\ProgramData.

Yeah, thanks a lot for this! Sadly the arcade is full of so many old broken unit testers and the search is so useless that I had to search TL to find a unit tester for HotS. This one worked pretty well for me, though I came to the conclusion that there's nothing in the terran arsenal that can beat mass hellbats except more hellbats (besides the obvious air units).

Yes, there... are. Brandon version (old WOl design) and mine with Cybros design and some fixed stuff such as energy button not affecting some LOTV units as well as some fixed upgrades.
