Looking for an updated Unit Tester map

I've been using this unit tester: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/unit-tester/ and it works great but has a lot of annoying bugs. Like when u click to "respawn units" it doesn't always give back the same units as you did before. Also the playing field is really small for some unit tests. Does anyone know of some alternative unit testers? This one is great, but there has to be alternatives out there.

That makes three.

However, if you look at some of the missing functionality, such as the need for open fields, there is already a button for that, however it isn't functioning.

I already made a version in which the mineral line button works, so if you want I could see if I could make a new field area.

Any other minor requests? Just looking at the triggers, it looks like I should be able to draft up the open field fairly quickly.

Actually, I need help with THIS unit tester.... It won't run for some reason i download it and it auto opens the map editor with what i believe is the map. then i press test document and the whole thing just minimizes till i click it again and repeat for the same result.... can someone PLEASE help me? I'm really hoping to try this.

Do you have the starcraft main window open? I often find that maps don't work if both the editor and client are open.

The map is coming along nicely, I copied the double choke terrain that is included and made it a little larger as well as adding a ramp. Can't work on it tonight though as I am busy.

There is a map called hardcounter that is pretty much the same thing. It's designed to be more of a game, but there is a sandbox mode. Unfortunately there is only one landscape to fight on.

I would also greatly appreciate a new/updated version of the unit tester, especially now that the game is getting more "standard" and I know what I can have when.

And unfortunately it has a bunch of errors in the north american client, all buttons are called parameters something.

Is the current version (7) using the current unit stats? I have a hard time believing that 60 supply of thors loses to 60 supply of battlecruisers.

hard counter is actually pretty good map, a bit easier to use than the menu system and the respawn gives the correct units unlike the unit tester that would drop units from time to time.

It's too bad Hard Counter is broken for the north american server.

I like TheUnitTester version 7, I'm learning so much from it. For example:

Marines vs Stalkers:

25 marines vs 10 stalkers:

25 marines = 1250 minerals, 25 supply.
10 stalkers = 1250 minerals, 500 gas, 20 supply.

1st run: 7 marines survive
2nd run: 5 marines survive
3rd run: 8 marines survive

So at equal minerals marines are just as good as stalkers if no micro is involved, and you save 500 gas, at a cost of only 5 more supply.


Marauders vs Immortals:

14 Marauders vs 4 Immortals:

14 marauders = 1400 minerals, 350 gas, 28 supply
4 immortals = 1000 minerals, 400 gas, 16 supply

1st run: 3 marauders survive
2nd run: 5 marauders survive
3rd run: 3 marauders survive

Okay so 14 marauders seems enough to beat 4 immortals if no micro is involved. Can 13 do it?

13 marauders = 1300 minerals, 325 gas, 26 supply
4 immortals = 1000 minerals, 400 gas, 16 supply

1st run: 3 immortals survive
2nd run: 1 immortal survive
3rd run: 2 immortals survive

Looks like 13 is not enough marauders to a-move win against 4 immortals. Keep in mind that even at 13 marauders that's costing you 300 more minerals and 10 more supply, saving you only 75 gas.

Interesting stuff, I will do more testing tomorrow.

did you use stimpack? because immos will still have to attack 3 times to kill mara

No micro in my tests. You'd be surprised how many games, even in the low diamond levels, go without micro.
