My macro really sucks...well so does my micro but my macro is bad. Are there any maps right now to train my macro skills? I play zerg, macro is important.

i havent seen any maps, so i would try to find games something else that help with multitasking, that usually helps with both macor and micro kinda.

this is a fun game that helps multitasking.

And This is a great guide written by Chill that may help. Its directed at SC1 players, but the same basics apply to SC2.

There are no real maps to help with macro, and it's justified. My recommendation is just mas game, and simply never allow yourself to go over x minerals. At first your micro may be really bad if you focus so much on macro but then you'll get much faster at doing larva inject and returning to your army etc. You'll also see windows in play where you have lots of time to look at your base and manage it well. Learning macro is like learning how to multitask... Just play games and it will improve, similiar in a way to APM.

The first jump for me when learning not to really bite with watching my minerals was when I was playing a lot of 2s with my brother.

We would watch our losses and when we saw one of us sitting on 1000 minerals and 800 gas as we lost a close game we'd give each other grief. Now I'm actually pretty good at keeping minerals down.

A good way to "practice macro" is to play by yourself on any map and try to max out as fast as you can using a standard build order. If you can get your time to get faster, it means you are macroing better.

In single player there are challenges you can do. One of them is about macro'ing up a army as fast as possible, it's called opening gambit. Unfortunately its a Terran only map.
I always try to give a sensitive, reasoned answer. This is usually awkward, time consuming and pointless.

I agree. What I've told friends and new players to do as they're getting into starcraft 2 is to learn a standard BO, and see how fast they can get to 200/200 with various different unit compositions and on one, two, and three bases. A zerg on Steppes of War with two bases making a hydra/roach/ling composition can reach 200/200 in 11-12 minutes - This is of course without any harass or interaction with your opponent, but as you play a dozen games of this or so you'll get your time lower and lower to the point where you'll notice things you can tweak in teh build to shave off time and be more efficient, as well as learning the muscle memory (such as 5shhhhrrrrrzzvv6vv).

I've always believed that the first step to being successful in not only starcraft but any RTS and even FPS and other genres is to learn the mechanics first (in RTS it's hotkeys, UI, and micro/macro, FPS is aim(projectile and hitscan, both very different), movement, how to use the weapons, grenades, other gimmicks, etc) before delving into the more strategic elements. If you spend your time trying to learn the strategy while you're constantly distracted by focusing on your mechanics, you'll progress much slower.
