Very cool opening. Loved it... funny how players are so often oblivious to "counter-proxy" they never even check just to be sure (it takes 1 probe 10 seconds ![]() After fisheye broke out of the containment at main, he slacked severely on spending, but I guess he knew that he had map control and just wanted to get as many ultras as soona s possible. About the ending: when I saw that fisheye's ground bases got comlpetely wiped out, I just coutned up the minerals he had on the islands. He took them with great timing (he waited until the end when the map was dry, and I'm fairly sure he did it on purpose). Though rS.Memory had a lot of minerals saved up and fisheye didn't, he was actually a lot richer. He had over 13 000 available minerals and potentiall unlimited gas, and the protoss had about 3000. So, though it may have looked pretty bad for Fisheye who lost all his tech and had no army, he was actually in a good position. I thought it was likely that he would win However... If memory did not give up, it is not a fact that he would lose, I think. He had great army composition. If I'm not mistaken, he had 2 or 3 dark archons, some hjigh temlpars, and archons. Consider the amount of cannons he had, he had great chances to make the game a draw. Then it wuold be even more awesome. Queen is subject to feedback, muta/guard - to maelstrom. Ultras would be very expensive even with Fisheye's decent resources, and it would still be hard to take down memory's defenses all over the map, particularly at top left. Note for discussion: Bwchart puts down Fisheye with over 400 "null actions" in the game. That's the most I've seen in a replay in a while. I suppose its because he spams spawn command for units to get them as quickly as possible and squeeze the most from his macro at important times. Most players don't consider this millisecond difference important, but it can add up. Useful? Am I wrong?

Fisheye did some mistakes, though. And MemOry would certainly have lost, in the end. Queens, mutas, guards, etc. Very entertaining replay, thanks.

Anyway Fayth gave the game away - he didnt maelstrom at all with his first DA's when he could have beated everything Fish had at that point. Then he should have taken at least one other island for himself when the air was still clean - and last he didnt bring his DA/Archon/HT supported army to back his carriers in the end. Those muta would have died so bad had he done this. Very entertaining game, tho. Counterproxy is so fun.

just two shuttles with 2 DA and 4 temps wouldve made him win the final battle though.. not to mention that he shouldve attacked right isle instead of the left. but godly game anyway.

But everyone wants to be a pussy about it, and not compete erm, what? first of all fisheye played zerg, indicating that it wasn't taken particulary seriously. then you have the build order both players utilized.. claiming that more serious gaming would produce more games like this is very wrong. anyway, this also reaffirms my earlier stated opinion that plains to hill produces the best games out of any map in the world. =]
