Replay Analysis Tools but OB Tools could have a tie.

I really don't care about LAN or watch replay online with ppl. :o

Rewind could be nice but not a must.

Replay Analysis Tools and LAN.
I assume someone would make analysis tools if blizzard wont implement them tho.

Watching replays online with friends. Not including this in the game would be a major step back from the original, and not being able to implement something that was in the 10 years older predecessor is absolutely unacceptable IMO.

I know things have changed a lot and new issues have arised, but I don't think it changes anything on my conclusion.

Watching replays online.

I think they'll more than likely have some kind of Steam-esque feature for playing on LAN (ie connect to Bnet, then go play LAN). I hope - otherwise I guess we can look forward to broadcasted games ruined by people spamming the gamers/casters ;p

I'm pretty sure Blizzard has something prepared to replace the LAN, so we shouldn't be worried about that.

So it must be watching online replays with friends.

Battle.net 2.0 supposedly the ultimate online gaming platform according to Blizzard, so I would expect ALL these options to be included as a minimum.

I don't get this why can't people just connect to battle.net and play each other ON A LAN over Battle.net. Why do they wanna play each other through direct LAN instead of over Battle.net ...like there wont be ANY difference. -.-

Watching Replays online with friends is by far the most important, its the best way to learn and also allot of fun.

Voted other. Since this is about Battle.net+features around, most important for me is a good lobby system.

Out of the predefined choices, I would go with watch replay online.

The question is very vague though, so the answer could be: the most important is the game itself.

It's shaping up to be a complete and utter failure with everything they're excluding.

Because 1) Relying on an internet connection is just bad in general. There are MANY, MANY ways your internet connection can ruin a game. Not only that, relying on B.nets servers would be HORRIFIC for any type of competitive scene.

2) There are many instances where you just don't have an internet connection or, like I said, your internet isn't reliable. Not having any multiplayer option outside B.net is absolutely ridiculous.

Is it REALLY this hard to understand the problem? Are people really this blind? Because I've explained this dozens of times and it seems like people just don't get it.

Easy choice for me. I don't usually spend a lot of time studying replays, but I LOVE playing LAN games with friends, and there's always SOMEONE who can't get internet to work.
Can't believe I'm still here playing this same game

If you gave me the choice between online replays and replay rewind, I'd go with online replays every time. Same goes with all the other poll options.

LAN is the only other close choice for me.

I picked it because that's what I want the most of those options. Everyone always says, "well you don't need lan anymore because everyone has internet now". My friends and I still get together and have all night lan parties, and believe it or not, we have them in a friend's basement that doesn't have a fast enough connection for all of us to get on bnet at once and have a good game. Yes Bnet is fine and dandy, but some of the funnest SC games I've ever played are with friends on a lan. None of the other poll options matter to me nearly as much, though I understand that for a lot of people that isn't the case.

I know people have suggested they might let you authenticate over Bnet, and then play with lan speed. If that turns out to be the case, I'll be completely satisfied. It seems like a lot of people assume this is how it will work, but I haven't seen any statement from Blizz confirming this.

Fuck there are too many important features that aren't included. I assumed Replays and LAN games were just a basic CORE that I wouldn't even define as a feature. Observer tools would be nice but fuck, reps and LAN first.

Importance.

-Watch Reps with friends

-OBS features (OBS for SC always felt shitty cuz you had to guess what they where building etc it had no details)

-Replay Rewind

-Replay Analysis Tools

-LAN (I don't necessarily care about lan all i care about is a low lag time I don't give a shit on how that is achieved.)

-Other.

In game UI features i guess would be other such as being able to re-organize the UI getting apm and mineral stats etc. I've always preferred to watch then play sc as I'm not very competitive by nature.

Observer tools and Replays with friends are the most important.

But I picked Observer tools over Replays with friends because if even they don't allow you to watch with replays with friends, you can still manually sync up with each other manually using vent or some other chat program.

The most important feature there is LAN imo, but LAN doesn't effect me as much, so the most important feature for ME is watching replays online with others.

LAN of course...
but "Watching Replays Online with Friends" is also very important because sc1 had it so sc2 must have this feature. you can learn lots of things when you and your friend(s) together watch and analyse a game
replay rewind would be nice. i missed it from sc1 too

I've done both LANing on bnet and using the LAN(UDP)

and LAN(UDP) is a lot better than bnet

I'm slightly disappointed that Blizzard decided to cut out LAN, I don't honestly see how it will cut down on pirating. However, I've heard that bnet will have a better connection quality, and that will hopefully cut down on lag and disconnect. ( Though I have doubts towards a "perfect" network without lag) It is a new game i guess... I am excited nonetheless.

I want LAN, I don't want an auto matchmaking system, and I want replays to be watched with friends and rewind for replays.

Obs tools and Replay analysis seems nice, just keep everything the way it has been and then add new things!

balance of the 3 races out of the box. its easier to add features later IMO cuz then sc2 will attract competitive AND casual gamers cuz no one will complain >.> not sure if this is a feature though

Based on my habits for BW, I said observer tools. I obsed friends play more often than watched reps with friends. Being able to have more info while obsing would be nice (obs mode tool is awesome). I hardly ever played LAN except while in Korea, but even then I certainly didn't need to LAN. Sometimes we'd stay on Bnet to play our games anyway, just for convenience.

What if you wanted to

1) rewind a replay... 2) that you were watching with friends... 3) over a LAN?!??!?!!?

I was going to say the LAN feature, but I guess I can get used to playing with friends on b.net. I actually chose the replay analysis tool because I love seeing stats on replays

all those obs tools and features are nice, but playing the actual game with people on LAN is more important

Always loved playing SC in the garage for some weekend with friends - but we don't have internet in the garage

i think this poll should be named "What feature still missing is most important for you in SC2??"
for me, since I don't have a broadband connection, LAN is the most important one, followed by observer mod and replay analysis.

No, it's to show Blizzard that they're wasting time implementing some features that are of much lesser importance while missing some basic features like replays online. ;;

synchronizing replay starts + vent gets over the online hosting of replays, LAN is not important at all and i have no idea why anyone even voted for it. The best tool is the observer tools by far, they have tons of great stufffff.

I like to watch my replays immediately after i play the games in order to learn before i start my next game. This is a must, as well as LAN.

If I had to go through that everytime I wanted to watch a bloody replay I'd not even bother. Especially when watching with multiple people.

Yay for not being able to speed up/down or pause at will.

How many people actually watch reps online with friends? I'd think that it takes away a lot of freedom you have when watching a game by yourself (example changing the game speed and so on).

Never ever used lan for Starcraft, so i wont miss it... everyone has itnernet these days,

Maybe you can make "private networks" at battle.net 2.0, so we will have lan 2.0 ^^

it would be ridiculous (as it is in sc1 ) not being able to rewind replays
and LAN or something to allow multiplayers without lag is a must

Online Replays... I remember during WGT when clansmate /f msg to tell everyone they played against this semi-pro, then everyone joined the game to look at the replay, talk and have fun. It brings people together.

LAN would be my second choice tho. When i was in college i could not afford an internet connection... So my friend would sometimes just come to my place and play LAN all night.

Uh, you can still change game speed lol (well, the host can).

That's pretty much the only thing that is taken away tho - you can still control everything else.

The Ability to have LAN games (974) 45%

Watching Replays Online with Friends (400) 18%

Observer Tools (259) 12%

Replay Rewind (259) 12%

all these four! can't decide ;/

NO EXTRA COSTS
I despise the idea of paying extra each month for a game I bought... Blizzard should put up money for the multiplayer and all these features for free, especially if they're making three games.

Going to private LANs to play for a couple of hours with friends is a big part of how I discovered BW; I haven't gone to one in years but if I would want to introduce someone to BW I think that's where I'd take them - the game is already installed, you just have to sit down and play.

My computer is part of a LAN together with maybe 80 or so computers from my neighbourhood.. in the good old days we would play a lot over LAN - I befriended some of them this way and I probably wouldn't even recognize them on the street otherwise.

I actually recently got an e-mail from a guy I met this way from the neighbourhood saying he's so excited for everyone to start playing again, like in the old days. Whatever system they implement, hopefully it won't take that joy away from us.

Yes, I would agree with the above dude (Highways) ... I mean you dont really believe that blizzard will CUT OFF lan gaming... I mean ... Lan gaming is an essential role in SC. So they will include some kind of feature where the latency will be at that point where progaming will become possible.
