First, congratulations doubleupgradeobbies! for winning Round 4 with a final score of 183, 10 above the 2nd place SKT team (HotBid made teams for all the pro teams). Check out the Round 4 thread for any information on that.
There aren't many changes this round, the only one really being a minor reduction in team scoring (as we saw last round they dominated the scoring, partly as a result of their scoring boost and partly a result of all the 3-0 matches we saw); this should bring team scoring more in line with players.
Summary:
- You choose 6 players & 1 team that score points when they play well.
- You pick 3 players that lose you points when they play well.
- Players & teams can be traded between weeks for those valued less than them.
Scoring
Player Scoring:
Non-Ace Lineup Appearance: 1 Point
Game Win (Ace included): 2 Points
Game Loss (Ace included): -1 Points
Ace Match Appearance: 2 Points
3-Game Win Streak: 1 Point
6-Game Win Streak: 2 Points
9-Game Win Streak: 3 Points
Break Another's Streak: 1 Point
Team Win: 1 Point
Team Scoring:
3-0 Victory: 7 Points
3-1 Victory: 5 Points
3-2 Victory: 4 Points
2-3 Defeat: 1 Point
1-3 Defeat: -1 Points
0-3 Defeat: -2 Points
Team Selection
Just like last round you will be forming a Main Team consisting of 6 players (1 designated captain, used for tie breakers) and 1 Proleague team costing a maximum of 30 points who will contributed points to your team based on their performance. New to this round however is the addition of a Anti Team, this consists of 3 players costing a Minimum of 13 points; your Anti Team players will be subtracting their point total from your total score (time to start looking for those overpriced players heading in to a slump). Note that the Anti Team and Anti Team selections are not related to each other, you may not however have a player on both your Main Team and Anti Team (you're not stupid right?). Your Main Team must still follow the rule of having one of each race; however the Anti Team is not limited by this restriction so you can pick 3 Protoss players if you so wish.
Trading
Again, just like last round, you will have an oppurtunity each week to trade players from both your Main and Anti teams. Unlike last season however, instead of Semioldguy generating a list of possible trades, each player will have a Trade Value that will fluctuate based on their performance over the course of the round and will start at their cost. Between weeks you can trade any player on your Main Team for someone with a lower (or equal) Adjusted Trade Value. Anti Team trading is the same except you must trade for someone of higher value. Trades are made using an Adjusted Trade Value which takes into account how many games each player has left. You will be limited to a maximum of 2 Main Team trades and 1 Anti Team trade per week and you can not trade away your captain from your Main Team; also, your Main Team must still contain one player of each race.

C = Player's original cost 4.56 is the number of points a 1 point cost player is expected to score over the entire round 11 is the total number of matches each team plays in a round. (4.56 / 11 ~= .41) Basically, this is figuring out what a player's point cost would be given their current performance (ie someone scoring 4.56 points in one game would have a cost of 11) this is then weighted with their original cost; the weights are percentage of games played for the "new" cost and percentage of games left for the original cost. I hope this makes sense, if not feel free to ask questions. As an example let's say  Leta (9 cost) plays in two matches the first week going 1-0 with a Team win in the first match and 2-0 in the second with an ace win and team win (4 pts 1st game, 9 pts 2nd game [3 wins * 2, 2 lineups * 1, 1 ace * 2, 2 team wins * 1, 1 Three Win Streak * 1]) = 13 pts for week 1 with two matches played out of 11 for the round: T = (13 / .41) / 2 * 2/11 + 9 * (11-2/11) T = 31.4 / 2 * 2/11 + 9 * 9/11 = ? T = 15.7 * 2/11 + 9 * 9/11 = (At this point we can see he has an estimated cost of 15.7 if he continues on this scoring trend whereas his original cost is 9--these are then weighted based on games played and games left) T = 2.85 + 7.4 Trade Value = 10.21 ( Leta's trade value at the end of week one with him scoring 13 pts over 2 games) Trade Value is directly comparable with a players original cost thus someone with a Trade Value of 9 is rated the same as a player that started at Cost 9. Adjusted Trade Value is what is used in the actual trade calculations and is simply Trade Value * Number of Games Left. Thus, Leta at 10.21 with 9 games left would have an Adjusted Trade Value of 91.89; say  free plays one game in week 1 and his new trade value is 9.5 (just picked this randomly fyi), free with 10 games left would have an Adjusted Trade Value of 95. Notice how free's Adjusted Trade Value is higher than Leta's because he has the extra game left to score additional points in.
There is also (like last round) the -1 points per player trade made.
Groups
This round you will also be able to join groups to be able to compare your results with a smaller subset of the players, for example there might be a staff group, a first time fpl player's group; anything you want to group by.

I never play these things or do liquibet because its not normally me my thing, and then I realized if I took some high profile gamers and put them on my antiteam I could bank on them losing and me winning.
I'm hoping for a stable top three with flash/jaedong/fantasy with a gamble on a cheap luxury. Nada and young seemed like the biggest bang for my buck at the bottom of the market.

Also, last season I started out with only one protoss on my team, and it ended up being a huge mistake, so if it is your first time I would suggest trying to get 2 of each race on your main team if possible. Idk, maybe some people will disagree with that though.

What about Mind yo . At round 2 he was probably the best pick for his price (4) after skyhigh (0) . Mind scored a ton of points and was wemade's ace player all round . Now he is only 2 points and wemade have slim to none chances at advancing , but i'm still willing to take him if wemade actually uses him in their line - ups .

i hate how i have ggplay on my team, but i couldn't settle with picking nada although it may be a mistake, nada is becoming washed up and isn't the old nada. hopefully i won't have to regret that in the next few weeks.
I was pretty close to picking free/pretty but i'd have to give up skyhigh and i just can't see that happening, the kid is on a sick heater.
Yellow[Arnc] at 6 is way overpriced, especially when his brother luxury is 2, imo luxury > Yellow[arnc] and it's not even close... i don't know the reason behind that one.
I really wanted much in my line up because he's so solid, like almost consistent as Kal, he doesn't take down titles but he's always deep in tournaments. he's very similar to kal but a little weaker, at cost of 2 tho, a real bargain.
And im just goin to throw it out there right now, Flash isn't the flash i was seeing 6-12 months ago, he's becoming very sloppy and isn't doing enough tricky rushes like he once did. he is solid forsure, but a letdown lately. so I had to go with Effort who is constantly surprising me with his skill/upsets.
it's funny, bisu and jaedong are my most highly rated players, and there not even in my team. Leta is sick too but still developing. at 9 tho... DAAAAAMN
IMO jaedong > Bisu but. in the match of precisely jaedong vs bisu i think bisu is a favorite.

Guys, please don't pick Hwasin. I know he looks tempting at so few points, but man, he is just going to disappoint you and infuriate you and make you die 30 days sooner than you would otherwise, purely on the strength of the misery picking him induces in your brain.

Its based on how many points they've earned in the previous round , not who is stronger then who .

are you sure you want to try with GGPlay though? He was a big disappointment for me last round, he doesn't see any playing time because ZerO is the go-to Zerg for the WStars right now.
You might want to try to pick a guy who gets to play a little, there are 1-pointers like that. or if not, try to get someone who sits in the bench of a team with high win ratio, they score you points even when they don't get to go out and play. =P

Well, last time I identified a pool of players that I thought were going to be cost-effective picks, but I think I did my team wrong. Two well-performing 5-point players will greatly outscore the 10-point players, but then there are people like luxury whom you feel are safe 5-point players that bomb on you. Buying someone like leta/jaedong/bisu at least guarantees you points, though it doesn't give you the most point-potential. The trick is to identify the 1, 2, and 3 point surprises, which is really difficult to do since none of us have a crystal ball except doubleupgradeobbies.
So I'm pretty much just going to pick players I like.

Huh. I thought word on the street was he was headed back to CJ, but maybe I missed something. Granted there would still be some downtime as he worked his way back to A-team, it makes me nervous anyway.

All this talk about Oversky for anti-team really seems to miss how outrageous HoGiL is at 7 points. I mean, 22-27 TLPD stats, plays for Hite... Seems like a slam dunk to me.

for those that put horang2 in anti should really rethink about it~.... horang2 is one protoss in hite thats being supported strongly so chances are he won't perform terrible in fifth round...
honestly what do you guys think jaedong or bisu? to be honest it doesn't seem like it matters but do you guys think jaedong will still dominate just as well without battle royal?

It is a bargain. Plus look at his matchlist from last season. Im not saying he is bad but he actually got most of his wins in zvz Battle Royal wich wont happen again. Also rotation is high in ACE.

I had a pretty good team last season (my first) - but my anti team with light and firebathero killed me. Both of them had higher -points than anyone on my mainteam had +points, except for jaedong ofc.
This turn im picking some safe bets - jaedong and bisu, and teams them up with some players that i think will do good (Baby really has potential, Backho is getting back into shape) and some gambles, (Reach, by.hero). I picked hwaseung because im hoping that backho will become the powerhouse he once was, and that they therefore will have 3 amazing players on their line up.
My anti-team feels pretty solid too - oversky will bomb big time, canata wont get alot of games and lomo wont either because of backhos return.

Lomo is still the 4th best player on OZ. BackHo is back(ho), but fOrGG's gone. Lomo will get the playing time.

Yeah i know - and they wont 3-0 THAT many opponents. Still - hiya JD and backho will play EVERY game, (they prob. want to get backho back in good shape) and maybe they will try out some other players? If lomo does play and wins, i still have OZ as a team so the points lost wont matter THAT much. At least - this is my gameplan.

Yes, every point that they would have earned had they been on your main team, gets deducted from your main team score.

Didn't Bisu get more points than Jaedong in R4? Didn't Leta also? And Jaedong did have that slump which wasn't actually a slump at all, he just didn't win 90% of his games one month.
Flash is an obvious pick though I'd say.

Any CJ victory will involve at least 2 players, likely in victories themselves, thus increasing the utility of them. Unfortunately, a CJ defeat will similarly involve them being defeated. Also, any CJ ace match will almost certainly involve one of those guys.
Hyun is a great anti-choice, as he's expensive, he plays a lot, and he fails a lot.

No, you can only trade players for a player of equal or lesser value (greater or equal for anti team).

Jaedong really should be my captain, but I'm too much of a Stork fan to pass him up. Hopefully Samsung will be back in form for this round. I really tried to fit in SkyHigh, but then Jaedong would have been my only Zerg. Hoejja is very promising, and July isn't over the hill yet. Hwasin is decent enough, and I was actually surprised to see him at 2 points. I liked him more than any of the 3 point terrans so my main team ended up being 29 points total.
Best and SKT Zergs on my anti-team (now that Battle Royal is rotating out) should be a safe bet, right?

It depends, but I think so. Nada's asked for time off to practice for MSL, and Mind isn't in either Starleague, so expect to see Mind/Baby often.
But maybe Nada will be back for PL this season, I know that was the reason why he barely played at all last season.

your anti team is really good. However I would suggest when picking a player you know won't play, do it based on team and not ability. A person who sits on the SKT bench and doesnt play will still earn a lot more points than someone who sits on the MBC/wemade benches and doesnt play.

There's a lot of overpriced zergs. The only good deals from the zergs side are Yarnc, Jaedong, and Effort. And at their prices, it's kinda iffy if you'll get the investment back.

You can change your team by clicking on the signup link again.
30 points includes the team. You might want to check your addition.

That'd be 0 points (+1 lineup, -1 loss). Team losses don't count against players, they only get a point when their team wins.

Thanks for the compliemnts. I orignally had Oversky, Thezerg and Tiny as an anti team but Oversky has a fairly strong ZvZ and is playing pretty well right now(he's also always likely to play), unlike Hyun, so I sacrificed having a player like you suggested in order to drop Oversky and get Hyun and soo. Hopefully it pays off ~~.

With all the amazing 2 point slumping players (Luxury, forgg, much, hwasin, mind), picking a 1 point player is a waste of a roster spot imo. by.hero is the 3rd or 4th best zerg on STX, and he's in serious danger of going 0-2 in week 1 and never being seen again. He's not going to get you many team win points either. Nada's probably worse: WeMade isn't good and he only got 2 games last round.

Some of the groups are locked, the fan groups are automatically created based on your favorite team selected in your user profile.

No, it's not possible. Trading way down in value is generally not advisable.
