Introducing....

Sponsor
As you all know GomTV sponsored the last MSL, and over time has been increasingly involved in the progaming scene, broadcasting live of MSL and KeSPA Cup over the internet. With their success, they've decided to sponsor another season of MSL, and added plenty of $$ for it.
Format
As previously reported, MSL has decided to expand their league, doubling their numbers from 16 to 32. Meanwhile, they completely disgarded the Survivor League all together. So instead of players who fall from MSL going down to a minor league, they go straight to the offline prelims.
Round of 32
Round of 32 will start like Ro16 did last couple of a season. They will have 8 groups of 4, and each group will play a Dual-Tournament like group match. There will be a game 1, then a game 2, a winners match, losers match, and a final match. The winner of the Winners and Final match will advance to the next round.
Round of 16
From round of 16 to the finals will be a single-elimination tournament. Sadly, MSL has almost completely disbanded their double elimination style. Instead, the 16 players will play a bo3, and the winners will advance to the Quarter Finals.
Quarter Finals and up.
Continuing from Round of 16, the next 8 players will continue to play in the tournament, except from here on the matches will be bo5. That's right. That's 4 bo5's in Quarters, 2 bo5's in semis, and a Final. All together that makes 7 bo5's.... 4 more than they had last season.
Meanwhile, the top 8 will be seeded for the next MSL. Therefor, a player is only required to pass by the Group stages and the first round of the tournament to be guaranteed a spot.
Prize Money
The good news is that the maximum prize money for MSL has nearly doubled. The total amount of prize money last season was around $70,000. GomTV2 will be a total of about $120,000. The Winner will scrape in an incredible $50,000, which is the largest amount of money yet. Shinhan3 last season was $40,000.
Schedule
With MSL's insane amount of games, and the elimination of Survivor league, there is really no reason for MBC to play only once a week. Thus, they will follow OGN's lead, and hold 2 events a week. These days are every Thursday at 6:30PM (Korea Time) and Saturday at 6:30PM (Korea Time).
Group Selection Ceremony: April 26th - Thursday, 6:00PM
First Match: May 3rd - Thursday, 6:30PM
