Starcraft needs emotions, god damnit OGN proved it with Broodwar, watch Hiya vs Free with nukes, mind controlled scv making manner CC and remove camera booth with all the smiles, tension and so forth, the game would lose 50% of appeal to me. Sorry but this is what production means, its not only nice graphical intro but all the nice details who we love and don't even notice until we see them removed. I strongly disagree. More often than not in SPL when they cut to player faces it's at a stupid time when an engagement is about to happen, thusly missing the opening positions and the first 3 seconds of the fight. I cringe every time it happens. GSL found a happy medium by having both player cams at the bottom during particular parts of the game, but they stopped doing that when they swapped studios - I guess because they haven't set it up again yet. I'd still rather none than the way OGN does it though.

By the way, remember the days not too long past when TvP was considered Innovation's achilles heel? He was only 28.6% in the matchup in WoL. Yeah now he's at a 90% winrate in HotS and he 3-0'd Rain, for my money, one of the best PvT players in the world. As far as I can tell, Innovation's only weakness is that Artosis keeps hyping him up like, seriously, every cast. The last player he did that to crashed out of his group 0-2 when expected to top it.

My god I fucking hate those. I mean it wouldn't be so bad if they panned to the players when the action has died down or one of the players is almost certainly going to lose. For me, during key engagements I'm really absorbed into the game and concentrating on watching the players micro their units. In some scenarios (especially ZvZ and PvP), the match could hang on a knife's edge due to unit micro. Then player cam all of a sudden! It just totally breaks my concentration and serves as an annoying hiccup in my excitement. and for what? 95% of the time it's just two players staring intensely at the game, focused on controlling their units....-_- who'd of thunk it?"Oh wow there's HerO who's sweating a little and looking at his screen!", I wonder what Effort is doing.."oh wow also sweating and focused intensely on the game!" Every now and then you get something good like when Stats lost almost all of his probes to a vulture mine, but that's not enough to warrant these imo. Love it or hate it, one thing I will say about the in-game camera shots is that at least it markets the players by letting you see them in a reality type of setting. It leaves an impression and puts a face to the play. Perhaps it's not noticeable for you if you're watch live streams and don't really cut away between games, but for someone like me who basically go with vods, I pretty much skip the intro and stop when the game ends. So to me, without those camera shots, it's difficult to really think of players as people but rather faceless names.
