So this won't be another apologetic post about the delay with our EU store, nor is it a heads-up for our amazing TL Hoodies being back in stock. No, this is about something that will change your life, something that you are going to use every day, despite it not having a retina display or a FullHD FaceTime camera.
Thanks to Razer, we are proud to introduce the first non-TL branded product on the TL Store - the incredible RAZER GOLIATHUS E-SPORTS EDITION - TEAM MVP. Man, that's a mouthful - but this epic mousemat deserves its epic name. Right now we only have 200, and so you should probably rush to get one, even though we know you got the TeamLiquid Goliathus eight months ago. As we all know that's never a legit excuse...
For now (and possibly ever, if we don't sell any more of these), we're only shipping the Team MVP Goliathus from our US warehouse. So if you're a fan in Europe, then we're afraid the shipping is going to be a bit more costly. Hopefully you guys will love the MVP Goliathus, and we'll restock on another batch, including in the Euro store.
And after that, who knows what our next move could be?

A Message from Liquid`Nazgul
Selling two hundred mousepads might not seem like a big deal at first glance, but I still think this is a special occasion. This marks the first time the Team Liquid store will sell merchandise with branding from other pro-gaming teams. This is an experiment for us, as it allows us to gauge what kind of demand there is for non-Liquid related products.
We're pleased to start off with team MVP, a great team with an amazing star in DongRaeGu who is beloved in Korea and internationally. As a team that has won multiple major championships, MVP has fans all over the world. The Team MVP Razer Goliathus would be a treat for any of them, as the MVP logo has been incorporated beautifully into one of Razer's most popular products.
It's exciting to continue working together with Razer and expand the scope of the TL store. We are working directly with Razer on this project, and team MVP has given Razer their agreement and support. If these mousemats prove to be popular, it could lead to even more cooperation between Razer and pro-teams to create awesome products in the future, and similar products being stocked in the TL store.
Looks kindda boring. I know their logo have always (?) been a shield, but it looks boring when the text isn't in the shield leaving it completely blank.
Otherwise they could've put some random SC2 logo in there!
Since you ask, we got everything in stock in EU (aside from the MVP mousepads). Only thing left to set up the technical side and do a couple of tests with the shipping. It will be up in time for the holidays.
Why different prices for the SAME product in different zones? I understand higher shipping cost, but why do I need to buy 5 € more expensive mat, because I live somewhere else... won't buy because of that.
I like the idea of selling pro team gear otherwise.

Why not make it a single coloured mousemat with a small text saying "MVP" in a corner? Ive read many times on certain forums where "mouse know it all-freaks" claim different colours make for different tracking abilities, so its unwise to mix them.

It would look worse and probably sell less (not considering they're only selling 200). If there is a tracking difference it's probably quite minimal, and few people even know (let alone care).
I would buy the hell out of a TL/EG Proleague mousepad! :-D I know the logistics behind it aren't as easy as "Lets make this mousepad and sell it now!!!", but one could dream!
This is a great idea, it gets more exposure to everyone involved. I will not be picking up an MVP mouse pad, i already own a nice razer destructor. But i im a much bigger fan of IM, so if you get me a IM pad, ill buy it right away.
On December 06 2012 05:42 USvBleakill wrote: Hmm TL-MVP partnership incoming?
I think this is just helping another member of Team Razer. Sure, Razer sells them on their website, but having them on a big SC website will be even better. And maybe in future the TL store can act as a marketplace for various merchandise for several Razer teams, who are not able to their own store up and running (especially korean teams).
On December 06 2012 06:26 Ollie wrote: "And after that, who knows what our next move could be?"
Partnership with MVP incoming? Similar to the one they had with oGs, not like the one with EG.
I've seen this misread a few times in the thread. It's more a suggestion of which other products or teams we would work with to sell through TL store. This is a small test run to see if there is interest for other teams products.
Just was going to the store for the first time to buy some stuff, but the 3 pack of shirt's is sold out! (in any reasonable sizes) Is there a thread or something with restock estimates?
I bought one, but I agree with other posters that the shipping is borderline misrepresentation. $19.99 for a mouse pad is a good price. $9 shipping in the US is not.

Exactly. Every european who's paid anything with dollars recently knows one euro is way more than one dollar, and still Blizzard and several businesses choose to use their own 1$=1€ conversion. 20 dollars is like 15 euro. Shipping is standard, but the price difference just reflects arrogant business. I know Razer is setting the price, but you could at least inform them that customers are choking on their cokes.

I don't know whether the extra price is because of shipping. I mean they apparently sell them to switzerland for 20$, while all the country around it need to pay 26$ (basically 31% more).
Wasn't it like 6 months ago you guys promised us a EU-store?... Might be a good time to make that happen now before christmas... I for one would buy a lot of your products, but that shipping cost + the hope you have given us of a EU-store has just made me wanna wait...
Just a couple of words on the shipping. The matter deserves more attention, and I think we should explain in detail how everything works from our end when we launch the EU store. In the case with the Mousepads I will say that these are actually way heavier than a shirt and we get charged for shipping based on weight. Also every distributor charges additional fees for handling and packing the orders. As of right now these costs for us are actually lower compared to the fees we would've been charged if we worked with amazon. We are just a small shop guys, only way to lower the shipping charges is to subsidize it by bumping up the prices of our products, or to grow and get better deals from the distributors.
The handling and packing charges of our EU distributor are actually higher than the ones of our US distributor, which is only natural because every service in Europe is more expensive, but at the end for you it will be well worth it cause the postage itself is cheaper, faster and more reliable. And no more duty taxes and problems with customs.

20 euros doesn't get you much farther than 20 dollars, maybe an extra Big Mac from mcdonalds. If you want it i doubt the 5$ is going to kill you.I see no need to complain about it everytime TL puts something new in the store.
They (Razer) also make more from doing it like this. Dont think its going to change unless they lose money.

Those are the same people that buy 1000 dollar wires so that there sound is better, even though it makes minimal difference. Same thing here, a color on your fucking mousemat is not going to effect your play.

Imagine you live in a town with the one shop (In this case; Razer). You and a mate want to buy something from the shop, your mate lives next door to it and you live on the outskirts of the town. It's reasonable to assume that shipping costs would be higher for you as you live further away, but you find out that the shop also adds close to 50% of the pre-shipping price onto your bill for no real reason apart from the fact that you live further away.
Would you not say anything? The reason people complain is purely principle, the actual cost is irrelevant.

I agree somewhat, but the principle isn't going to change, so buy it or don't. I understand its an analogy but i cant relate a town with a country across a giant ocean. I would just go to another store, because in American there are laws against monopolies so i would just simply go to another store selling the same thing without discrimination, you dont have that here. So i guess the only solution is A. Australia or a country using euros becomes a superpower B. Just accept it and pay American price from American companies.
If Australia has to pay extra for shipping anyway, why is our mousepad $10 more to begin with? :/ We have it hard enough paying $100 for a new game these days, but the entire world just can't seem to help themselves but make everything infinitely more expensive for us.

Its probably the exchange rate dude....Kind of like how 500 billion Zimbabwe dollars are worth 2 American dollars...

We've basically sat around parity for the last year +.
It would be nice to see america actually charge us what the product is worth. We're ok with shipping anyway. We understand it's overseas.
Don't get the exchange rate thoguh.
yea wtf....thats crazy.
Unfortunately it's become a standard for Australia, hence the original complaint.
Simply put: years ago our currency was like 1/2 USD. But now it isn't, we're basically still paying the same. For almost everything =S
Despite being so far away, people note that US is a great vacation now because everything is so much cheaper. Australians have been importing games, clothes, etc by themselves for a long time because of this.
I ordered myself two of them, since my older ones are falling apart. MVP works as a neutral label as well, so it's fit even if you don't happen to be a fan! First item out of the TL store thus far. Can't wait to try them out.
I really like the look of this, however I will be purchasing from Razer's European store... 75% of a products value to ship is really quite ridiculous, any word on the Europe TL store?
Same problem as the Team Liquid one for me here in the UK. I would love either one of them, but after buying the product, then shipping it I then have to pay 20% Import tax, then ~£9 for handling fees to the post office making the mousepad cost me nearly £50.
Looks like I'll still be waiting for the EU Store (if that's still going to happen.)

YEAH! Great news.
Can you confirm if HotS will be available in the EU store as well (with the beta key on pre-order)?
On December 06 2012 18:22 vGDaverave wrote: £17.99 & $19.99 Who are you kidding. I have no intentions of even looking at the TL store again.
1) TL already mentioned they can´t decide their own prices on this and have to follow the official Razer prices.
2) Please don´t look at the conversionrate. A lot of these products have to be sold for a higher price in Europe as in America because of the extra added taxes. For example the VAT in the USA is non-existing. The closest thing they have is a sales-tax each state can decide on their own. It´s between 1 - 10%. The VAT in all European countries is around 20%. That´s a big difference there already.
3) The typical minimum wages in Europe are higher. This results in more money to spend, which results in higher prices for your goods. It´s called inflation.
SO FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT´S HOLY PLEASE STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE DIFFERENCES!!!!

That are some very good news, going to buy a TL Mousepad and Hoodie the second I get the chance to !
yay got one! Shipping is a little high for non EU Europe countries, but the price is in USD instead of EUR so it kinda compensates. Had to have one since I'm a big DRG fan.
Please create a new mail directly to razer and tell them people are disgusted about the value difference between different countries. As long as all the material is produced and distributed by the same company, there is no logic to increase the value of the product based on country. It doesn't matter if the prices are set by Razer or some others. As long as you (TL.net) provide and sell these materials, you are partially responsible for that. Blizzard and some others make the same retarded move, even for digital products.(guess what, there are others that don't do this shit, Valve e.g)
When people feel cheated, the amount is not important anymore. Some said 'this is for support etc..' , I think the opposite. Instead if it is for supporting someone, you should decide the price equally no matter what excluding shipping.
I am pretty sure if you set the price equal for all regions, you will earn more money and less annoyed customers.

Finally! Great news, only thing that kept me from buying stuff from TL was the disproportionate shipping prices. It was not the price itself but realising you could almost buy another mousepad for the price of the shipping itself.

Problem is that the prices in the US are always without the VAT, because this is on state level and are added when you are buying it. Not happy yet? Include shipping and voila you've got your price in your currency and it is quite close now
sad to see the USD = EURO pricing and $ 15,- shipping means i wont get it at the moment. Hoping for euro warehouse to be up and running and hopefully better shipping costs

Awesome mousepad. But one thing that is really weird about Razer store is that when they sell products to € countries they calculate euros like 1€ = 1$ That's bullshit, euro is much more valuable than dollars. For instance Razer BW ultimate cost 140€ = 182$ for euro countries, but it only cost 140$ for americans and european countries who doesn't use euro as their currecny like Sweden or Denmark etc..
Razer products are awesome but i will never buy them from Razer store.

Stop complaining so much about $4. I don't see the Aussies complaining nearly as much that they have to pay basically $12 more, or the Brits, $9.

I wasn't complaining about the price of that mousepad. I was complaining about the Razer store pricing logic. Sure cheap mousepad is not big deal even if its little bit more expensive, but when you are ordering something more expensive on Razer store the price will be many $ more expensive than for the others. The funny thing is that our neighbor country Sweden gets all the gear from Razer store with dollar price because they don't use euros. Why Razer just can't sell their gear with dollar price to all countries then just convert the price to another currency...
