After suffering from a lack of money, GhemTV will close this month. Not much to say about this, they were unable to get the ratings, thus they went out of business.
The planned Starleague and Team Leagues will not be held. This simply sucks for the players who put in the effort to qualify for the Starleague, and really sucks for the female progamers who now have nowhere to play.
This also sucks for the foreigners out there, since GhemTV was the only game channel that did not try to protect it's VODs from being ripped, thus providing the foreign community with a relatively easy source of VODs.
Despite being least known gaming channel, that had nothing on the quality of the games played. In fact, the quality of the games played on GhemTV were far better than what you usually saw on the most well-known channel, Ongamenet.
But still, you have to draw the casual gamer in as well, and Ongamenet's proffesional and flashy packaging has managed to keep them on top. MBCGame lacks this, while GhemTV lacked it even further, and so they're down and out.
I'd appreciate it if Mensrea would dig up some more info

Ongamenet is getting more and more money hosting more and more tournaments, poor GhemTV can't keep up

i liked the clean athmosphere of Ghemtv. gamers didn't have dozens of people looking over their shoulder and screaming girls in the audience which really added to the higher quality of the games.
too bad.

well that is what i like in ongamenet .. the audience is just part of a sport .. ghem tv was so ... sterile

I'm slowly hacking my way through ongamenet system and i have week 1,2,3 and 4 VODs. But I can't share them because we have holidays here in Russia (1st of May and 9th of May - Victory Day). So, after 11th i will share em.

Man.. GhemTV was the shiz. I acctually liked the atmosphere. I don't know why, but there was something about it I just really liked.
Also, the games were a lot better. And where else did the chicks acctually get a chance to play?
