So many good things happening in this season of Code S. Unfortunately, I really hope MVP can muster everything he's got to put up a fight against Naniwa.
Let's be honest with ourselves, MVP played great sets in all of his games for the most part, but in a lot of the games he tried to get his advantage from risky economic plays rather than agressivley creating his own advantage - something that should give you clues that his multitasking is certainly suffering. And against an extremely calculating player like Naniwa, if MVP lets him smell blood in the water, Naniwa will pick up on that and take care of business without hesitation. Naniwa has to be a favorite on paper here, not even just due to MVP's seemingly poor match up of TvP. His injury (or whatever) shows in the strategies he is playing, and I think unless he steps it up in the multi-tasking department, he will just get figured out and go down in maybe what can be called an "un-MVP-like-Fashion?" Regardless, I hope he really can play at the level he is mentally and mechanically capable of, and we can see amazing games from him even in his weakest match up.
As for HerO, this GSL is his oyster. I don't think he has a weak match up, and when nerves don't screw with his decision making, he is almost unmatched in multitasking and army balance/placement. I don't see anyone as a favorite against him, save MKP perhaps.
Great review, the tone of this writeup really captures my feelings as well for the most part .

Cool to see HerO and Mvp go through!!
But I will miss the Zergs

Does anyone else think that Leenock would have won game 3 if he hadn't missed a fungal on one of mvp's first drops? That medivac got away, then came back in and sniped a hatchery or tech, I forget which, in the middle of a big battle elsewhere. Amazing how the little things can swing games.

Great season for HerO so far. Though zergs will be missed, better luck next season. Respect to Leenock aswell, i do love his playstyle so much and he gave it his all. He will be back and contesting DRG for the Throne.

HerO played really well today, definitely deserves to go through. As far as the second place goes... holy shit the Mvp/Leenock series was so fucking close, sooo recommended to watch, especially the final game.
Our first Ro8 matches will be: HerO vs SuperNoVa & NaNiWa vs Mvp

in that match, every small thing mattered. So yeah.

I love those rare occasions when my predictions are dead on.

Awesome article, one of the best I've seens here, and of course huge props for MVP!

I'm so happy that HerO and MVP got through!

Time to go back to the drawing board zergies. Perhaps it's time to finally figure out some real openers D:

Game 2 and 3 of the Mvp Leenock series was just ridiculously good.
I was reminded of Mvp vs Leenock from GSL November during the third game and I guess Leenock, Mvp and Dual Sight = epic games. Such an amazing night, I feel bad for Leenock though he deserved better than a ro16 finish with that play but GSL is just too damn hard these days for everyone to consistently make deep runs.

As a Zerg i'm really happy that I didn't bought a season pass this time. The only thing i'm looking forward is Naniwa vs MVP. Would be awesome if a foreigner make a huge upset in the GSL finally.

Awesome news that MVP and HerO moved on! Code S is looking pretty crazy this season it has been so hard to predict who will move on!
|
Hmmm... in order to be a Royal Roader, wouldn't you need to win code A prior to winning code S? Or just qualifying through code A and winning code S in line would qualify?
|
I'm so sad no zerg in Ro8 :'( , I think I'm just gonna check the result of caode S, only the match-up I don't like reamins...
|
no zergs left

One can't actually win code A though. HerO came through code A and was one of twelve ro24 winners who advance directly to code S. That is as close to winning a code A as possible.
