The lack of zergs in GSL is very worrying. I think GomTV most give the two seeds to zerg for season 3. (last time Polt T, and Naniwa P).

Hopefully Naniwa can keep me interested in GSL Code S :<

So happy for MVP. It looked like he was done for after the first game, but WOW, the guy really resilient - he just does not die lol.

Sad that there are no Zergs left, but Code S has become so good. I actually really like all the 4 players that are in the RO8 so far, and we have some sick matches incoming!

Congrats to Hero and Mvp for advancing.

Just remember GSL October of last year. Round of 16 = One protoss, Round of 8= Six terran, two zerg.
Sometimes Artosis and I like to have Hot 6ix with each other - Tasteless

All I'm thinking looking at this is that NaNiwa can definitely beat MVP. Naniwa for top 4!

Yeah, there being no zergs left in the top 8 is good. Nice troll

Happy HerO made it. Very well deserved, played the best out of the 4 in the group.

That writeup was rather a thrilling story than an objective overview. I like.

Hmmm... in order to be a Royal Roader, wouldn't you need to win code A prior to winning code S? Or just qualifying through code A and winning code S in line would qualify?

I think the former (or at least I think you need to advance A -> S on your first try), it's kind of a weird middle ground. Does it count as royal roading if you win your first Code S after several seasons of losing in Code A? Or do you need to go all the way from scratch. Would Naniwa be a royal roader if he won his first season of Code S despite being seeded there after several failed Code A attempts?

yeah i thought royal road means

1st time to enter GSL, blazes through code A and then blazes through Code S to win in it

MVP said in the post-RO16 interview that his wrists were numb after the first game, so weither or not the treatment he has due will rejuvinate him in time for Naniwa I am doubtful of.
But if he does bring his a-game I have a feeling MVP can make it to the finals, though there are no more delicious TvZ's to be played MVP's TvT and much improved TvP combined with his immaculate play could carry him to a victory.

Oh i am split so bad, part of me wants MVP to win the whole GSL and show hes not in a slump. The other half wants the foreigner to win I DON'T KNOW WHO TO PICK.
Plays against every MU with nexus first.

I think entering Code S as the highest echelon for SC2 tournament play for the first time and then winning it right away, sounds rather royal road-ish to me. So technically even NaNiwa could do it, although in his case he was seeded directly into Code S, unlike HerO who won his Code A bracket.

Since someone on the first page got it wrong:
Ro2 -> finals
Ro4 -> semi-finals
Ro8 -> quarter-finals

For some reason everyone talking about "Royal Road" makes me think of "Rainbow Road" from MarioKart 64 and I absolutely hated that course. Haha

OT: I'm so happy for Hero advancing and I hope he continues to crush through the next rounds! Hero hwaiting!

Man what a heart breaker. I love Leenock and July and add in the fact that they were the last 2 Zergs I really wanted one of them to advance. Can't really be too surprised with that group though, such good players. Part of me wants to see MVP win another GSL and the other part of me wants a foreigner to finally take it down, even though I'm not a huge Naniwa fan. Either way, none of my fav players are left so I don't think I'll be watching any more of code s this season.
