being able to write a script doesn't help you win Mafia games. In these games, clues can help find mafiosi and having a master list of profiles and relevant info seems like it should be very helpful in matching the clues with people. Put it this way: maybe I'm overrating it, but if I was Mafia, I would prefer not to have a master list like that out there. If araav hadn't done it? Maybe someone else would have. Maybe not.

We can argue about how suspicious araav is (I don't suspect him at all; Ace does), but we don't have anything like the severed-head clue pointing to him at the moment. If araav is the best we have, I will be voting for Ghar in the next lynch. Might be worth setting a detective on the severed-head clue.

plus veterans have no active abilities to prove their role. thus, a mafia infiltrator isn't in danger of blowing his cover by failing to complete a certain task.
|
Of the roles, it seems vet is the hardest to disprove, followed by medic. I don't know of any way a vet can prove he's a vet unless the town does something stupid like send a vigilante on him. It almost guarantees safety from lynching if they isn't any role clashing. When there is a clash, you have a list of suspects but it is unfeasible to check.
Medic role claimers, from a mafia perspective, so long as they avoid the names they've been sent to protect, they strengthen the notion that they are legit medics.

Thats the thing, several people have already done it. It would have been done so how does that skill help to catch Mafia?

almost.
If they have to kill a certain target I ask them to protect things get tricky.
They don't know how many other medics are protecting that target, or if they are the only one.
They also cant chance a suicide bomber since they can't find the prime target.

Vets can be flushed out also, just takes a bit more time.

I have a notepad file of initial impressions of everyone in the game, here is the entry for araav:
araav - ran for mayor on ridiculous pretenses
Hey cool, what was your initial impression of me?
btw, sick job on the lynching

Fielding a vet is just bad strategy. They have no useful abilities, so they can't gain any information. When you have 2 real vets but 3 people report as a vet, then you have three strong suspects. Mafia need to protect their numbers as much as possible. Given that, fielding a vet wasn't a smart idea for them.

It is still pretty helpful when they lie about being a vet/medic because it really narrows the search down.
It would have been a lot harder if they were posing as a regular townie, or someone who pretends to be inactive because those ratios are ten times higher.
Ace doesn't have to disclose any information to the vets or medics, so it's fine.
They are only damaging themselves because they have become primary targets for investigation.
We have far more info from the clues and other subtleties on other mafia members to lynch/execute them already.

I'd say it would be cool if Ace pasted this whole file... but only AFTER the game ended. Now saying anything unnecessary could be helpful to mafia.

Wrong. Risk of getting caught as a vet is very slim, still it harasses the town. It's a good trade for the mafia.

Shallow[Bay] - very off the wall, but is posting clues which helps. He may be a hidden weapon against Mafia if he would stop being so crazy.

haha sick, "hidden weapon against Mafia". Thanks :p

No...Mr. Blonde didn't attack like a dragon...He attacked like a scourge, just didn't blow himself up like one...

Wrong. When there's nothing else to go off of, and there are clues pointing vaguely at one of the three, then you're going to get picked off next.
And it doesn't cause any confusion that's useful. Who cares who the vets are?
|
The reason mafia would pose as vets is because the vets extra lives ability hurts the mafia a lot. The easiest way to get rid of veterans is to get them lynched, which makes the lives ability useless. What better way to do so than pose as a veteran and cause confusion?

Just to make this clear for me, you're saying that they'd pose as a Veteran in order to cast doubt on the real Veterans, in the hopes that a real one will get lynched and save them the hits?
|
Ha. Bloody unlikely for us to lynch a vet until we have ample proof that they are lying and that is a lot easier than you may think!!
His name leaves nothing to the imagination shallow.
