Normal Mini Mafia II

Introduction:
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox.
6. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host.
7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
9. Betting items outside of the game in exchange for in-game benefits.
10. Sharing accounts with other players. Only you may post on your account.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.

Activity:
You must post in this thread once per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled.

Spam is not tolerated, nor is any off-topic material. Do not discuss Proleague here. Do not talk about Starcraft II here. Play Mafia here.
Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything.
Inappropriate posts:
If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM Me before involving the TL staff. If you are unsatisfied with how the situation is resolved, then you can appeal to the TL staff normally, after the game has ended. I have zero tolerance for flaming.
Reporting posts:
The report button is a nice feature for regular TL, but not for this forum. We prefer to deal with things in house if possible to avoid confusion among the TL staff. If you have a problem with how someone is posting, talk to me. Please do not use your report button for anything during the game, PM me instead
Ban discussions:
Please wait until this game is over to talk about modkills and bans resulting from this game.
Play to win.
This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.
This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason without a ban. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM your host if you need to leave the game.

Out of thread communication:
It is common for mafia (and town circles if PMs are allowed) to use a medium outside of TL such as QuickTopics or IRC to communicate during the game. Please be mindful that other players may be more tech savvy than you and they may attempt impersonate members of your team or attempt to infiltrate your chat. You use these media at your own risk.
Voting rules:
1. Voting is done in this thread. Please keep votes here, and only vote here. Do not PM me your vote.
2. Please vote in the following format: ##Vote: GMarshal. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update vote counts whenever I get the chance.
3. No conditional voting.
4. You may vote for yourself. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. This game uses Extended Majority Lynch. That is, at the deadline the player with a majority of votes is lynched (majority = 1/2 the remaining players, rounded down + 1), if no one has a majority then no lynch will take place.
6. Voting is mandatory. You may NOT abstain. You MAY vote for a no lynch by posting ##Vote: No Lynch

This game is open to anyone. Signups will remain open until all 12 spots have been filled .

Modkills:
This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment. If you want to use this game to sit out your ban, please PM Flamewheel or post in the Ban List.
Replacements
This game uses replacements. Replacements will be made in the game until I run out/decide I don't need them anymore. If a player is modkilled during the designated time, then they will be replaced by a player on the replacement list.

There are NO clues.

PMs are NOT allowed in this game.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a 24 hour night/48 hour day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is 02:00 GMT (+00:00), but that is subject to change. Actions/votes will be accepted up to and including the posted time, but not after. Remember, only votes up to the deadline will be counted, that is a vote at 01:59 GMT (+00:00) will be counted, one at 02:00 GMT (+00:00) will not

Role List
Dreams are strange places, strange places where anything can happen, and reality doesn't have to conform to the norms. A place where logic and reason coexist with anarchy and chaos. What happens then, when the dreams of men leak into the real world, and fantasy collides with reality? Will the two worlds crash into each other and be destroyed between the fanfare of battle horns and the snarls of the gungir while muskets roar and solders scream, or will the effort of a handful of individuals be enough to separate the realms of the dream and reality once again and avert a fate as bizzare as it is terrifying?
The dream is leaking through and reality itself crumbles, will you save reality or damn it for eternity?
This is a semi-open setup, that is, you will know what roles can be present, but not the exact role counts.
Separatist
Separatists (Town) win condition: The separatists win when the stability of reality and the dream world is assured through the destruction of all aberrations. That is when no aberrations (mafia) or third parties with conflicting win conditions remain.
Separatist Powers- All separatists players may vote every day for who they wish to vanish. At the end of the day, the player with a majority of votes is vanished and destroyed(majority equals 1/2 the number of players, rounded down, plus one). If there is no majority, no player is lynched.
Dreamer (Vanilla Townie)
Is this reality? Or is this a dream? Its hard to tell when the borders blur. If it is a dream, then it is vivid beyond words, if it isn't then this is truly a terrifying proposition. Which it is, is actually irrelevant, you have no choice but to try to stop the aberrations, or at least pray you wake up from this nightmare. Your only power is the ability to vote. Figure this out before its too late!
Beyondshard (Medic)
A denizen from the dream-realm, you are a multicolored shard trapped in a rapidly changing body, you represent the subconscious goodness of dreamers. You realize that the dream is leaking through to reality, and that the only possible result of such an event is the destruction of both worlds. You must plug this leak before it becomes an unstoppable flood of dreamstuff. Because you are the manifestation of all that is good in humanity you may take the shape of a shield at night and protect a player. If he is hit you reduce the incoming KP by one, if the kp is reduced to 0 then the player does not die. Neither you nor the player you ward will be informed if any kp are deflected. You may not target yourself
Psychologist (Detective)
What a curious dream this is! Just the place for you to ply your trade and identify who is "sane" and who isn't between the players in this most singular situation. Sure, it might be a dream, but if it isn't what a wonderful chance to learn the truth about dreams and the human psyche. Every night you may choose to check a player, and find out if they are Aberrant or Not Aberrant. You are guaranteed to be sane.

You are a citizen of the dream realm! Specifically, you are the living (if being a part of a dream can be considered living, at least) embodiment of the outrage of a dreamer at injustice, and their urge to set it right. During the day you resemble a normal human, despite your eyes being alight with rightful fury, but once per game, at night you may reach into the ether of the dreamstuff, summon the fires of your rage and set them loose at a player. This counts as a single KP. This shot may not be refunded for any reason. (If you are roleblocked a night you choose to fire you do not lose your bullet).
Shadow Wisp (Veteran)
You are a citizen of the dreamrealm, you are the incarnation of a dreamers cowardice and survival instincts. Because you represent this deep-seated urge to survive, you are adept at hiding and evading. The first time someone attempts to kill you, you will hide in shadows and darkness. The first kp to be aimed at you during the game will harmlessly miss . You will be notified if this happens.
Police Officer (Jailkeeper)
Caught in this malestorm of dreams and who knows what else, you are in quite a precarious situation. This doesn't amuse you at all, but you have no choice, you must face the dream-realm and cast it back. Because of your position you may arrest someone each night, keeping them from going out and performing actions as well as stopping the first kp aimed at them that night. Your targets will know they were roleblocked, but neither of you will be notified of a successful save. Factional KP cannot be roleblocked. You may not target yourself
Additional Rules: Aberrant Psyche- Any town player in the game can be a bit of a deviant, weather by some induced childhood trauma or just by being plain strange. Anyone with an Aberrant Psyche returns Aberrant to a Psychologist. (Basically a miller mechanic, that applies regardless of role)
Aberrations
Aberrations (Mafia) Wincondition - The aberrations win when they outnumber the separatists, or nothing can stop that from happening.
Aberration Traits -All aberrations may communicate with each other and choose who to kill every night. They also communally have one kp. They also have the Delay power communally. That is, any night, they may choose to withhold their kill, and instead have 2 kp the following night. For example, they may choose to not kill anyone night 1, and instead have two kp night 2, they must inform the host if they choose to use this power, and it cannot be used consecutively (e.g if you use it night 1, you may not use it night 2). All mafia players may vote normally.
Doppelganger (Mafia Goon)
You are one of the aberrations who wish nothing more than to see reality crumble before the onslaught of the twisted minds of man. You are one of the primal human vices given shape and will, and your will is to destroy! You have all the normal aberration traits and no additional special powers, but that's fine, you know that as soon as you kill these fools the netherrealm will split open and spill in due to its own weight.
Psychopath (Mafia Roleblocker)
You are a regular dreamer, who has lost it entirely, the shadows always pecking at the corner of your mind.... are real! Now you'll make all those fools who doubted you pay. Hahahahaha. Pay. In BLOOD. You have the power to call those shadows at the edge of your mind every night and use them to keep another player trapped in his house. You also have the regular aberration traits. Your target will be notified that he was roleblocked.
Mindworm (Mafia Rolecop)
You are a parasitic being from the dreamrealm. You are a parasite that feeds on the fear of mankind, and this is a glorious opportunity to generate enough fear to ascend to the next stage in your evolution. Besides the normal aberration traits, you have the power to creep into a persons mind every night and find out what their occupation really is.
Dreamrifter (Mafia Framer)
You are one of the beings directly responsible for this rift in reality and the dreamscape. You are the incarnation of all the ill will born by a dreamer. By using your powers, you can shroud a player in evil, aberrant thoughts and make them appear Aberrant to psychologists. You can also invert your power and suck out the evil from anyone who already posses a twisted mind, making them appear Not Aberrant. You may not target yourself, you posses the normal aberration raits
Broken Mind (Mafia Godfather/Strongarm)
You are the remnants of what was once a dreamer, but whose experiences in reality have broken your mind and your will to live. Now you just want everything to end, and so you have cast your lot with the Aberrations. Besides possessing the normal aberration traits, you are a completely normal person, making the psychologist think you are Not Aberrant. However, you have the remnants of your rage, rattling around somewhere in your brain. During any night in the game, you may become a full fledged Aberration, (returning Aberrant to the psychologist for the rest of the game, including that night) and infuse a single kp with extra power, allowing it to count as 2kp for the purpose of piercing any protection.
Also, each role has custom fluff, to deter any silly ideas like name claiming, the mafia will receive fake claims at the start of the game, and may, at any point request up to three more safe-claims from me and I will provide them, safe claims can be for any role. (A note to the scumteam, try to order safeclaims with some time for me to write them, especially considering as I'm not on 24/7. "I need a claim in 3 minutes" is likely not going to get you anything useful)

A few GMarshal specific tidbits
1.) Play nice. I expect you all to behave like Gentlemen (or Ladies, as the case may be). I will not hesitate to modkill or outright ban you for excessive behavior, this includes abusive language and personal attacks. I don't mind you saying "fuck" every once in a while, I don't want to see "FUCKING DIPISHIT, FUCK MAFIA FUCKING SPAM FUCK FUCK FUCK DICKNIPPLES". I'm tired of that kind of shit. Standard tl behavior rules. No personal attacks. The occasional "you idiot T.T" or such post (especially if warranted) is ok, no more than that though.
2.) Don't spam. This isn't IRC, try to consolidate your posts, its horrible when pages 20-80 are all one line posts between two players yelling at each other
3.) Activity. Yes, the guideline is one post per cycle and a vote, but I'll be disappoined if that is the most you do. I do keep track of activity levels, so if you are really inactive I'll make sure you don't get invited to any of my future invitationals, or get preference in signups. Too inactive and I might blacklist you altogether.
4.) Memes and Gifs. Zero tolerance pretty much, as in elsewhere on tl, I will not allow them. Pictures that are not memes are generally ok. No memes (u mad?) or stupid gifs or meme based image macros. Its stupid and belongs on 4chan.
5.) Every single role has custom fluff, it is perfectly ok to claim this fluff, but beware, the mafia has received safe claims , and a total of three additional safe claims for other roles of their choice. All they have to do is PM me their selections. Mafia team, try asking me with lots of time, rather than when the town wants you to claim within 3 minutes or be lynched, as I'm not always on, and writing role fluff takes me a little while.
6.) You may claim your role in full if you so desire, with all the attached fluff, and there will be no consequences, you do not have to paraphrase it. You may not include the time when you received it however.
7.) Have fun. This is a game, the point is to enjoy yourself, so by all means, roleplay to your hearts content, lynch mafia, kill townies, chat, enjoy yourselves there is no point in stressing out over a game.
