Ok, we'll use the player roster and trade 1 vote to the person below us like Sentinel said. This gives us a good strategy for vote trading.

If we have no mayor to elect or other policy discussions, what else can we do to for the next 70 hours?

The OP has been updated with voting directions. Tomorrow I will send out PMs with specific commands to use Zbot.

I concur. We do what Sentinel said. We keep it simple. Simplicity means transparency. We should also avoid setup speculation, as it's likely to get out of hand without flips to give us any information. That way when information presents itself, it's not lost in a sea of speculation.

Can you vote more than one player at a time?

No, you can only vote for one player at a time and all your voting power goes on that single player. When you change votes all your votes shift to that player.

Woohoo! It begins.

Townies, we need a plan. The vote system could cause us problems if we don't stick together. We'll need to ascertain what vote-rigging abilities the scum have, to do this we need a circle of trust. How do we know mafia have any abilities at all?

I also like this idea. Mafia is forced to play our game.

All we know:

Mafia a set KP of 1. The town is penalized by no flips.

And now we play the waiting game....

This idea from sentinel is simple and transparent. I don't see why we shouldn't follow it for now. If this plan will continue to be the best going forward have to be reviewed as more infomation is revealed.

Its funny how you can think of a plan to do this and you think you had it figured out. Then Sentinel post before me with a plan that is easier, smarter and better. I'm just not that smart i guess =/

{speculation}
I think its quite safe to assume that both town and mafia have powerroles. I also believe that some of the roles are attached to the votepower mechanic. Maybe a powerrole that only activates with a certain amount of votes? Or you need to have less then a certain amount?

I think everyone should give all their votes to me. Additionally, I think we should hang everyone who opposed having PMs in the game because that's why I originally wanted to play it.

Here's my attitude when it comes to speculation:

1. Does it help us find scum? If yes, then cool. If no, then on to #2.

2. Does it help us find/establish townies? If yes, then cool. If no, then #3:

3. Does it help us to not get fucked over by some broken scum mechanic? If yes, then cool. If not, then #4:

4. If you got here then you shouldn't be speculating

Since your speculation falls under #4, why are you doing it? What purpose does this serve?

I disagree. As long as you don't take the speculation and add it to real information gained later I see no reason not to speculate now.

Speculating might open up ideas/possibilities for others that they have yet to realize themself - myself included. Also it provides discussion at the start of day 1.

Everybody should give away as many votes as they can every day. This is a good idea because it will prevent scum from eliminating voting power through night kills, and voting power will only get eliminated through the lynch which is more likely to hit scum than night kills.

So are you saying we should all circle trade 2 votes instead of just 1 tonight? So essentially we will only lose 1 vote to a night kill instead of 2?

Right now scum has 12 votes. That is over half of what is needed for majority. There will be a certain breaking point in which if all mafia survived for awhile, then they could essentially be the majority in themselves and start circle trading between each other ensuring a scum win. There are variables that play into this scenario: how many votes lost during lynches, how many votes lost during night kills, and if there are any power roles with with vote changing abilities..

I agree that the more votes in circulation for town is better, but we have to be careful. Mafia can use this method to their advantage.

Lets say we have players(# of votes):

A(3) <---Mafia
B(3) <---Town
C(3) <---Town
D(3) <---Town
E(3) <---Mafia
F(3) <---Town

Okay, then night comes.

A Gets 2 votes from F, Trades 2 votes to B <---Mafia
B Gets 2 votes from A, Trades 2 votes to C <---Town
C Gets 2 votes from B, Trades 2 votes to D <---Town
D Gets 2 votes from C, Trades 2 votes to E <---Town
E Gets 2 votes from D, Trades 2 votes to F <---Mafia
F Gets 2 votes from E, Trades 2 votes to A <---Town

Then day comes.

Lets say mafia kill Player F. His trade goes through to Player A, but Player E's trade fails.

A(3) <---Mafia
B(3) <---Town
C(3) <---Town
D(3) <---Town
E(5) <---Mafia
F(1) <---Dead

1 vote is lost. Now mafia has more influence.

If we circle traded just 1 vote then it would be.

A(3) <---Mafia
B(3) <---Town
C(3) <---Town
D(3) <---Town
E(4) <---Mafia
F(2) <---Dead

2 votes are lost. Mafia stills has more influence, but not as much as the case above.

Pros and cons to both methods I would say. On one hand we have more votes in circulation which is good for town and a possible mafia with more influence. On the other hand we have less votes in circulation which is bad for town and a possible mafia with a little less influence.

This also leads to a lot of WIFOM on the person who gets more votes after the night kill. WIFOM on whether or not they are possible mafia.

[sarcasm] Or we could just give all our votes to Palmar and cross our fingers! [/sarcasm]

Yes. Mafia will be able to control who gets extra votes depending on who they kill. Will they gives extra votes to themself or to a townie?
I don't see this as a problem the first few days but later on Mafia might be able to just kill the right person to gain the majority of the voting power if we continue with this plan.

What if we just decided our self who to gives votes and how many and also wrote in the thread who we gave votes to? That would give complete transparency over the night votetrading. It will be harder for mafia to shuffle votes around among themselves and I don't see how mafia can lie about the nighttrading even though they are the last to post their actions. They can of course lie among themselves who gave who, but if all town post the thruth (and they should) there are no way that town should not know where mafia votes went.
How much info this gives us are relative. With no flips it can be hard to look back and with certainty determine anything out of votetrades but there would be less confusion about who gave who votes. People would also be able to see where votes goes before they trade their own votes. This might mean that we don't get a, potential scummy, person with a big part of the voting power. Could also make a big confusion where everyone keep changing who they gives votes to...

I think this is a bad idea.

Trading away votes like that makes it so that the scum can easily manipulate the vote and when one of there teammates can swing the lynch by putting a crap ton of there votes on a one guy. Think about it this way if all the mafia put there votes on one person then we can have about eight votes on one guy. If they all pool there votes and then that's not including any townies that might happen to put there votes on the mafia votebag.

This one person has huge potential to sway the lynch and ensure that the mafia can lead the lynch to a townie with out all piling there votes and revealing themselves.

The Sentinal Method gives us the ability to have each townie be accountable for his votes. Also importantly for us to know the power behind each vote. And to make sure to give us no surprises. If we are allowed to trade haphazardly then the scum can use there vote bag to hammer the vote if we get close to lynching a townie.

@Palmar Putting everyone's votes on you is a terrible idea. I'm not even sure why you are mentioning it.

Is there going to be a thread to vote in linked in the OP or is it just assumed we won't lynch anyone Day 1?
