yes this. The observers would have to be able to talk with each other and see each other's votes, they share a wincon after all, only real way to make it fun.
I know that personally I would get immensely frustrated playing the role of actor. I think if you're a competitive person, playing the actor would be difficult.

Actually, it'd be fun to run an observers game without the "actors" knowing. Then the lynch is given to the players, night actions are done and the next day begins. It won't work now that the idea is outed, but that's how I would run an "observers" game

The thing is, though, if all the observers know that they are of the same win condition, then it sort of removes some need for observers to play so long as at least one observer is playing. I.e. it feels like it is even easier for an observer to just sheep another observer and not follow the game.

There was Caller's canclled dota game (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/games/100542-dota-mafia-signup-thread), Caller's second cancelled dota game (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/mafia/100534-dota-mafia-just-when-you-thought-it-was-over), iGrok's dota setup that he created, but never hosted, GreYMisT and Hassybaby's tease of a dota game for years that they never hosted, and finally wherebugsgo's suggestion of asking Hassybaby for the rights to the game that never happened.

Ok, since I cannot host, here is a mini themed idea that I think would be fun:
Mad Necromancers Minimafia} Two mad Necromancers, in a tiny village, decides that they should end the lives of everyone. For that reason, and for the joy of chaos, they summon every villager to an important communication: spirits told that one of them were going to bring doom to town. What the Necromancers really need is a corpse so they can make an instant organic bomb that would kill all. They could've done that killing with their own hands, but they enjoy the suspence destiny brings. A macabre joy.
1st mechanic) 96h day cycle, no night cycle. Majority lynch. Townies need to lynch one mafia to win (the bomb can not be performed by only one necromancer). Mafia needs to lynch one townie to win. People are told in their pm's who is beside them (on your left is x; on your right is y) and they get to know that there is always one townie between the two mafia.
2nd mechanic) Normal game but if mafia gets to lynch the townie in between them, they instantly win. Everybody gets to know who is beside them.

I'd play the shit out of this too. Even something like two posts a day formatted as open letters would be cool. I think it would make the games highly readable, quotable, and memorable.
It could even be a theme game. Something like Dracula would work well I think since people communicated via telegram in the 1800s.

Sure I'd take a look every now and again.

game over twitter. everyone makes accounts/adds each other as friends (must be some group function to easily find people). it would be way better that way imo.

You have to post one selfie or picture of your food per 24-hour period as well.

Also it's really easy to make a twitter account, for non-retards who don't use twitter like myself. No to the selfie idea!

Also prepare your anuses because I have an invention that is going to fuck scum in the ass.

I'd love to visualize the players I'm playing with and correct my mental images.

u just want to add people on facebook. Selfies wouldn't add anything to the game. It's not like you can get a read off a selfie.
