I am planning to run it as a basic kingmaker game like the one linked in Foolishness post, with just minor differences. I am open for suggestions on the set-up, if someone find it unbalanced, please speak up and maybe I can do some adjustments.
I was planning on running it at like 21:00 or 22:00 GMT( 16:00 or 17:00 EST, 05:00 or 06:00 AEDT(I think, if I didn't mess up the daylight savings)), but if there is a majority of American players who want to play it in the evening/night I might drag myself out of bed early and run it at like 04:00 or 05:00 GMT (23:00 or 24:00 EST, 14:00 or 15:00 AEDT) (I can't do anything earlier though, I need my beauty sleep).
I need a cohost for the game, but there won't be alot of chores. As soon as I get a co-host I will put up the game thread. Sign me up for co-hosting.

Great, thanks :D
Going to bed now, but I'll send you an PM tomorrow, and hopefully I can have the thread up as well then.

Please add [M][N] GSL Open Mini Mafia IV to the Normal Mini Mafia Queue (unless someone else wants the spot)

I'm curious... we've had a 5-man mafia before. Would it be plausible to run a mafia game with just 3 players and no instant majority lynch?
|
That sounds very un-fun. But plausible.

It definitely is plausible, it's the most basic game of mafia you can have. Whether or not it has the same level of fun is definitely debatable though =P

One hour of pointlessness is definitely better than 2 days of pointlessness
Yet somehow neither appeals massively

Well, scratch that idea then.
I might take Caller's Mexican Standoff one step further though in the near future...

The host has to disappear mid-way as well.

Oh don't be silly. I enjoyed watching everyone die quickly in Thug Life and watching everyone die quickly (because I modkilled them) in II Titanic. This shall be much less frustrating.
I present to you: Cannons Mini Mafia.
12 town, all VT 4 scummers, all Goon
Everyone has a cannon with 1 shot. There are no lynches and no dayphases, only 24-hour nights. You can do one of three night actions:
1. Load: adds another shot to your inventory 2. Fire: fires a shot (if you have one) at any target. Successful hit if target is firing or loading 3. Defend: Save yourself from any incoming cannon fire.
So everyone is simultaneously a vig and a medic.
At the end of each nightphase, the names of all players who fired are listed alongside the usual flips. Not who killed who, but simply a list of names who sent in the ##fire command. You are not notified if you are shot while ##defending.
I think there's an actual not-mafia game based on this mechanic but I forget what it's called and I'm a big fan of plagiarism anyway.

maybe overpowered, but would it be a good idea to allow defend to save any player (instead of just yourself)?

I want everyone to be vulnerable.

[M][N] A Quiet Game of Mini Mafia has ended in a Town victory.
The circumstances resulting in this early finish were regrettable, but the game (such as it was) was good.
