Woah-woah hold on there pal + Show Spoiler + Did we really watch the same games ? Fnatic has definitely not been impressive at all during group stage. Their 2 games against CG were painful to watch, definitely far from what they showed during LEC, the win against SKT I only saw some parts but SKT seemed too confident after their qualification, taking unnecessary dives and risks (jesus christ that Akali dive on Veigar, wtf went through Faker's mind). And the win versus RNG, honestly it seemed like all teams from group stages would have won as easily. RNG literally threw the game in champ select and refused to play the game at all, they never contested anything, they just offered the game to FNC it was painful to watch (Xiaohu least damage of the game as Ryze just how). Hylissang is a really good Pyke player, but what made him shine this game is just how passive RNG was, he could get away with pretty much everything he wanted. Now don't get me wrong, FNC did improve since first round : Rekkles stopped trolling by playing mages, and they made some good plays/decision making during the 2nd RNG game. They knew botlane was free (poke vs kill lane) and toplane was of least importance (I mean, they both were useless that game, with a little advantage for FNC with GP's ult), so Broxah focused on ganking bot to both get Rekkles and Hyli going while shutting down Uzi even more than their comp did. The way they also managed to get going while avoiding pretty much every teamfight (up until their lead was too much) was brillantly executed, thus really preventing RNG from any chance of winning (well not like they already had 5% of winning after champ select). Frankly all their games were disappointing, it feels like it was more their opponent losing the game than them winning it Regarding the games vs CG, EU has a strong tendency to play fiesta games vs weaker teams. NA too if I remember correctly from last year play ins. There is also the aspect that even if people call Worlds stacked this year, there are still only a handful of teams that you could legit put over a stumbling FNC. The fact stands, Fnatic managed to take a convincing game off SKT, something RNG was not capable of. I won't get out my tin foil hat and accuse SKT of intentionally losing, and while I can imagine SKT didn't take the game too seriously since they basically had 1st seed in the bag, they did seem to be trying. The botched dive in mid lane on Broxah/Nemesis is exactly the kind of play that currently separates world class teams from everyone else, riskier plays with big rewards are meta. That is also exactly why SKT struggled at the start of the year, every iteration of the team has gravitated towards calculated plays and solid macro, took them forever to finally pull off those kinds of proactive plays properly, and imo they still make mistakes when they force situations, hence GRF can take games off them. Surprised iG decided to bring in Ning, Leyen isn't perfect but I don't think he's the problem either. iG looks to be hoping that TheShy will just destroy Nuguri in the split push, which honestly isn't a bad idea.

Also Spylce probably won't either You got me. I underestimated the power of week 2 EU also LCK has a chance to have 3 teams out of groups Yeah I totally didn't expect C9 to have their worst world's performance in franchise history. I'd laugh fucking hard if TL knocks DWG out so I still end up being right accidentally. And honestly I don't think it was EU week 2 as much as Splyce was a shoe in, JT and GAM should have been absolutely free and its embarrassing they dropped maps to them at all. And Fnatic is legit one of the best teams on the planet, I think they could win the whole thing. lol you were wrong in your number 1 guess too, as Korea one-ups EU by having all 3 teams go in as the first seed, while EU only get second seeds
