I don't think I'd go that far...
I don't think there was any openings for chaos for RNG. RNG thrived on chaos the whole tournament, going for plays lots of teams at this tournament didn't expect because people thought they wouldn't make those plays because no one else would make those risks and most would respect the possibility of them being shut down hard for their greed.
Very different styles. In BO5 settings, the korean way is much stronger. I think everyone but RNG and G2 lean toward the Korean style.

SKT was the favorite everywhere I looked. They even got the majority of votes on the Riot approved storyline driven pre game show predictions.
I think he meant that people didn't expect SKT to stomp as convincingly as they did, not that they weren't favorites

yea skt only gets better as more games are played and the more time they have to prepare for matches.
RNG looked lost in pick/bans as the series progressed.
hopefully the winner of clg/fw looks good. would not want the finals to be as much of a stomp as this one

God that last game was clinical. I also liked the double mejais for inducing tilt, even if Faker got punished buying it instead of his Zhonyas
Bo5 SKT is scary shit. RNG looked considerably worse as the series went on esp in pick ban

I think SKT just are really good at honing in on what teams uses as crutches in the draft phase then use that to get themselves into a favourable drafting position while knowing what they need to do ingame to win. Other teams just seem to fold to this, it's not really about Korean style or anything. KOO were number 1 in Korea then folded in the exact same way barely even registering as a team against SKT.
The only teams we really saw that didn't just fold were the Samsung ones. Also think almost every top team have these massive weak links on their team that become a massive liability when facing stronger opposition. Why does FW not have an ADC? Why do the CN teams continue to have real shit Chinese players on the roster? SKT don't have the best players in their positions but they have players that know how to be roleplayers which is important for a team.

That was the worst p/b I've ever seen game 3/4.

They're almost like Barcelona at the height of their prowess, where you just have to admire the beauty of their play. Except SKT is not at the height of ther prowess. Compared to Worlds they are fairly broken. Blank needs to step up or has to go.

Bengi can't play Graves, Kindred, or Nidalee at all. The one time Bengi played Graves he looked horrible.

they were given a few days, decided to take things seriously and rolled out. I think a lot of people were expecting them to show up after robins. Blank or no Blank.

Hmmm, I'm surprised Azarkon never showed up.

That's the SKT I think everybody expected to see coming in.
Faker in form, calculated play that doesn't leave openings for another team to win. I'd be pleasantly surprised if whoever they face on Sunday wins more than one game.

Eh. They just seemed better even when losing. SKT wins fast and loses slow. SKT with the leads other teams got on them would have won sub 30 during groups. The meta shift just gave them earlygame headaches.

hopefully the winner of clg/fw looks good. would not want the finals to be as much of a stomp as this one The Leona pick wasn't bad (IMO) its bad that they have to pick it. In that, RNG seems to crutch on Mata's initiation. Troubling for them even in China if Soraka/Janna or something similar becomes the meta. But IMO the Leona almost worked.
I also just dont get why you would ever give SKT Maokai. I mean, Duke isn't 300-1 Marin on it, but he presses a good arcane smash.
I'm interested to see FW or CLG in the final though. CLG might have some new earlygame twist to break out.

So you guys still have faith in CLG? ^^

I want to say their team strengths play to the patch better than Flash wolves, mid is just so unimportant on that patch unless you're talking about ~30min+ Ryze/Azir.
But I've been watching league for a long time and I don't want to get my hopes up.
