We all thought Darshan was just a carry top laner who could only play the top laner champs like GP, but he showed up on Poppy, Ekko (kinda sorta), and mainly Maokai. But he showed he could play tank champs and still be a carry player.

RNG imports stixxay to build the ultimate team. also SKT seems to have recovered well. the other teams all look quite solid as well. playoffs should be fun but I still believe the 1 week of prep will benefit SKT greatly. SKT is much better at prepping than actually adapting

As things stand I'm predicting a 3-1 or 3-2 in favor of CLG, barring Huhi, Xmithie, and Stixxay reverting back to NA scrubs. For SKT vs. RNG this is as close to a 50-50 as you can probably get in LoL. I'm favoring SKT slightly only because it's 4 battle-hardened pros with years of international experience vs. a Chinese team that has a fair bit of young, up-and-coming talent (Looper and Mata are insanely good, but the international pressure from a Bo5 is going to be huge on the Chinese kids.) Either way, whoever wins in the SKT vs. RNG series is probably going to be who wins MSI.

Here he is vs looper/duke/etc and doing fine

SKT's group stage week was a fluke and they will go into bracket stage with guns blazing.

PerkZ writing "Vacat..." with champion picks, starting with Vi. Haha, the living meme. Edit : Also in before CLG gets 3-0'd.

The random Maokai engage on Mata with no ult to lose game 1, the TP bot to feed a kill VS FW and let MMD get ahead. He was often behind in lane and making weird TPs, I kinda felt in the first two days, he looked like he was trying to hard to carry and make plays. But he's really stepped it up since like Day 3 and onward, his Poppy teamfighting has been so good.

Consider the trappings of a 'major' region: 3 direct spots at Worlds, and 1 of those is in pool 1 out of 3 for group draw purposes. When you lose the latter, you are no longer fully equal (in terms of formal treatment by Worlds tournament) to LCK/LPL/NA LCS. You're bumped down to second class with LMS (only 2 direct spots at Worlds, but now have claimed a pool 1 spot). Degradation in status is a humiliation that has to be made up for through performing well at Worlds.

They were winning with very smart pre-20 plans, and holding on for dear life the rest of the game because DLift and Bjergson were vastly outperforming Huhi and Stixxay. Thus people assumed that SKT, RNG, G2, and FW would be able to do the same to CLG mid-late and also not lose 100% of the earlygame macro. I actually think much of the narrative is true, except CLG also seems to understand this new meta (into lategame) better so their comps have been built on the assumption of a smart earlygame and scaling. Also, Xsmithy has been onpoint with smite which has given them some unexpected advantages. Its yet to be seen if CLG is MSI's C9 and their advantage evaporates, or if they can keep their comp and earlygame advantages.
