He didn't exactly look better. that's one game on a team he had no practice on, he's looked better in the other professional games he's played. And while that's vs worse competition, he looked a lot better that split than Crumbz did.

Yeah, apparently he was confused about when he was going to be a free agent or something, and by the time he announced that he was, most rosters were already filled up and he went back to Korea. Also, not sure why people keep saying that Renegades should get Goldenglue. Why would he leave a team where he's making over $90k a year to join a team that's probably worse and where he would make less money? Also, Shrimp was apparently extremely nervous in his one LCS game, so I don't think you can really judge too much from that, especially considering they likely had little to no practice together.

The Sneaky anology intended to demonstrate that one game on a new champ =/ good indication of the skill level of how good the player is 2-3 months in the future? That Monte just prior to worlds was very happy to tell the audience that Huni could not play GP? (based on useless data) Neither seem hard for me to understand. But maybe my communication was off. Please enlighten me.

Fnc didnt pick GP at all. It was a 3 0 vs edg with GP banned every game. Even in group stage GP banned 100%. And 2 weeks before worlds to Februar 2016 u cant change your mind? Huni was Bad at gp i agree withm onte before worlds from what er saw. He could have improved now 4 months later. But to be honest vs dig he wasnt outstanding either. . But whatever picking a Quote from somebody 4-5 months ago to prove he is wrong now seems you are just nitpicking because you are biased vs monte.. It was picked in G2 vs EDG though. The game was however remade. In the remade game, EDG had to readjust their P/B and ban Morde. If Fnatic/Huni was not comfortable playing GP, they would probably ban Morde and GP on red side as most teams did. However, EDG on the other hand wasn't willing to play GP into Morde. So just by looking at the P/B-strategies of the team, it shows alot about the players champion pool.

I guess just like irl having connections/friends helps and Dignitas' owner "hands off" style means his job isnt really in jeopardy. To me, the biggest indication that Crumbzz was done as a jungler came from when he got the boot from dignitas in the 2015 Spring Split. He had been playing abysmally, got replaced by CloudNguyen, he lambasted his team and his teammates saying that the problem was that they weren't getting enough vision or following his calls and that the team was going to crash and burn without him, and next week dig played SO much better without him it was like a different team, and they started picking up wins again. I think Crumbzz moved into coaching then, which is fine, but I don't know why Renegades thought he'd be any good as a player again after that. Why not take a chance on a challenger jungler over someone who isn't any good in soloqueue, is nowhere near LCS-caliber on stage, and is well past his prime. It's like if TIP now decided that what's missing in their roster is to buy Chauster from CLG and start him in the jungle again.

So, from this interview with Chris Badawi back in last March: Q. So how did you get in touch with Crumbzz and Alex? So initially, I was in the running to purchase Curse Academy from Steve Arhancet. I got outbid but I formed a relationship with Steve and during that process he invited me to work with Liquid for a couple of weeks and see what it is that I wanted to get out of the scene. Steve opened a lot of doors for me and really welcomed me into the scene. I made a lot of great connections and met a lot of good people. After my experience with Liquid, I decided to create my own team and we parted on good terms. Steve was really wonderful throughout the whole process. I saw Crumbzz left Dignitas, had drinks with him and talked about what we wanted out of the future. We wanted to create something that was really player centric - less of a company and more a family, something like the early Cloud 9 - a bunch of guys doing something that they loved. The scene is so competitive and there is so much money involved that there is a lot of pressure on these guys and a lot of the times their love of the game diminishes. Overall I think it is possible for players to play this game for a living and have fun doing it. I decided I wanted to create an atmosphere and a team where they felt like they were part of an organization - something they were proud of and were personally invested in the outcome of how the organization does and Crumbzz really liked the philosophy. So he and I together started talking about what kind of team we wanted and what kind of roster we wanted. Crumbzz suggested Alex and I talked with Alex to see if he was contracted to any team. He said he wasn’t and so we ended up getting Alex. Crumbzz and Alex are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. Any team with these two kind, professional and distinguished personalities at its core will be an absolute pleasure for all involved - not to mention Alex is a legend and Crumbzz has been in the scene from the start. So with this philosophy in mind, I started to search for other players and found Yuno. All three of us agreed that she was a diamond in the rough. We’re now three strong and still looking to solidify the rest of the roster. We have plenty of time until the Challenger Series qualifiers. So the vibe presented to the public is that Crumbzz is there less because of his skills as a player and more because of a philosophical match.

*aside, if you look at Mason Long's esports resume, it says differently. His resume (which can be found here) lists his tenure as manager of Misfits (Renegades' previous name) from January 3 to August 12 of 2015. There is some overlap with what he listed as his time as coach of CLG.Black, which was for October 1, 2014 to February 7, 2015. That one month overlap of jobs gets an eyebrow raise from me, but I can't dig up more on that to go further. Misfits wasn't even publicly announced until March.
