Very humbling experience for the LPL scene. By far the most hyped region coming into the tournament and the worst Worlds performance yet. Arguably the worst international performance from them since Season 2. I think hubris was their downfall not communication. They had the high of MSI and just showed no adaptation to 5.18 compared to the other regions.

China down now to take down Korea (Hopefully)

i don't think it has anything to do with that. just really weird picks and bans from their part in you cannot just bring wingers in to China thinking you're going to get good synergy on the team. Throwing money at a few koreans just doesn't mean it's going to deliver.

They didn't just throw money at a few Koreans.

They filled 40% of LPL AND LSPL with Koreans. An import of over 30-40 players.

And it has completely back fired on them. I love it.

It hurts Korea more than anyone else. China can just dump the players when they want no loss no gain.

With GODV's varus Q there they might have a shot.

honestly think 5.16 was huge in China's downfall

like yeah at some point that doesn't excuse everything but they had such amazing p/bs in LPL and they go to worlds and look clueless, all the other major regions (except maybe NA) just got a better grasp on the patch, faster.

again china is the only region who had 2 teams qualify from 5.16 while na/eu played on 5.14 entirely

I give a lot of weight to map control and momentum when you're looking for picks. You have to be relentless and keep doing it to maintain a sizable advantage and keep knocking towers down.
They also lost both after their throw so they went from ahead to behind regardless of the gold.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

playing on 5.16 like half a week after it's out and teams weren't taking full advantage of darius/gp etc. and actually understanding the juggernaut meta are 2 separate things though.

edit- also I believe it was before the darius hotfix that made him broken

Uh, they spent millions on the Koreans... I know that Chinese billionaires don't care but economically speaking, the Korean players got what they wanted, while the Chinese billionaires didn't.

What I meant is they brought in a few to several koreans to each team and look at the makeup for fnatic even. It just doesn't pan out. You need players who are not only good but are able to work together to secure objectives and shit.

Yea but how can you use it as an excuse then? The other regions qualified on a patch that has nothing to do with this one. In lpl they played those same champions that are played right now and the team that could play them the best qualified. Hell ig qualified mostly because of this patch.
