the problem is that you get a lot of one sided matchups because of region disparity, and the way groups are drawn so that you only have one region max per group, so you get one or two teams that are way way better than the others. Then when you get good matchups like SKT vs EDG coming up, it's only a best of one so you only get one game and even that might not be a good one because of randomness/throwing.

The best thing to do would be to open it up and have a lot more international tourneys per year, but Riot doesn't want to do that cause they like their isolated scenes- fans in weaker regions don't have to see their teams get shitstomped all the time and only having 2 huge events in MSI and Worlds means that they get the huge viewership/attention, which is what they really want out of their esports operation.
