They went from like a 4-5k gold lead, to losing it all at dragon by playing sloppily/badly. They sometime just died stupidly(and repeatedly), which allowed SKP to gain the lead/catch up.

Never thought SKP would come back when Riven was so far behind Makai. Watdefox playing so well this series.

I think this game is a prime example of how comeback mechanics mean if you have one bad fight, things can turn on a dime. That Xerath was pretty nutters though.

SKP is a really impressive team. They seem to have multiple threats between Watdefox, Zytan, and maybe even Smity/Zyzz. Unfortunately, their jungler seems pretty weak. That aside, their team kind of reminds me of C9. I like their play. I hope they make it into LCS.

SKP is a very good team for sure but I dont think you can dismiss the bad play by NiP either. They really seem to be off their game the last few sets I have seen.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Except they didn't have just "one bad fight". NiP had MULTIPLE bad fights. Even after the first bad dragon fight, they were still ahead around 1k-2k gold if I remember properly. Not to mention the multiple times either Alex or voidle got caught which allowed SKP to stay ahead.

Yeah, but the bad fight sling shotted Riven's levels way up, evened the gold out, and probably influenced NIP's decision making in subsequent fights (if they felt like they were going to win at the next dragon fight, would they just charge up mid? I doubt it).

The catches on Alex/Voidle hurt too, sure.

I don't think it allowed Riven to sling shot ahead of maokai though(that happened after the series of catches by SKP, and they got baron). The dragon fight allowed Riven to come out evenish with Maokai(even then Riven was only 0-2-0(i think) which really isn't the worst thing to come out of laning as). If you think about how badly NiP played that dragon fight, I don't see why SKP shouldn't catch up there. That was such a bad series of events by NiP due to their own decisions. I don't really think that one fight changed the game around completely as I believe NiP still had a chance to win the game

+ Show Spoiler +

I dont necessarily disagree with you on mid-game anti-snowball mechanics being weird. There might be something weird/off about them. I just disagree with your assessment that the game was ONLY turned around due to those mechanics. I believe NiP caused their own issues more than any in-game system.

I never said it was the only reason- SKP played the game well, no denying it. I'd say it's more about the tempo of the game shifting dramatically and less about the game being over after x point.

I see what you mean, and I probably did exaggerate too much there

As for the drafting of game 2, I wish I knew more about certain drafting decisions from the teams. For example, why they decided to ban Morgana. Considering it's likely if they keep maokai up, that they can take morgana anyways.
