Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis!
No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum.


2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future.

I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat.

I think Red gives better baron control, also some gimmicky things. For example gragas (or lux) red side makes it very easy to steal baron.

Boo, I feel like that's a huge oversight on Riot's part. Like we've got the other quarterfinals tomorrow, then we have 3 days of nothing before Semis and Finals. If Riot filled in those days with 5th - 8th and 3rd/4th place matches, it'd be a ton of entertainment IMO.

But like you said, you're gonna give criticism to Riot about their matchup system. I think it's just something they should consider for next season.


can you name 1 sports tournament that plays out 5-8. Thirdplace Match I could understand.


Traditional sports, none. I believe eSports have done it though, depending upon the games. I think it's happened sometimes in SC2 and CS:Source.

No, just internal history. So I'll expalin it.

Manifest destiny was a rationale of conquest from the east coast to the west coast. Basically it says it was America's destiny to conquer and control the land from sea to shining sea.

The railroad thing is basically when America put up a lot of internal infrastructure all throughout America, but it was mostly done by using cheap immigrant labor. Most notably the Chinese immigrants were given these high risk low paying jobs and it is suspected that for every foot of rail is the equivalent of one dead man.

A key part of MD was kicking all the other 'powers' of the time out as well as ignoring any potential claims of non-whites etc. It's a pretty ugly part of U.S. history (although there's a lot of regrettable stuff). The exploitation of Chinese (and other east asian) immigrants is far far worse than even stuchiu suggests.

I kinda agree with you, but I just wanted to mention that Andrew Jackson is actually very highly regarded by historians because he played a key role in getting rid of the national bank and was also a huge protector of popular democracy and individual liberty. Jackson is a very polarized figure because he did some absolutely great things for the country, but also did some of the worst.

Generally it's FP, and the threat of getting a good, non-banned FotM. For purple/red, banning Zed (unless you started playing a Zed hardish counter mid like Riven) is mandatory, for instance.

Previously, there was blue/red imbalance because bottom lane for blue could take double golems and get an early level 2 easypeasy, and better dragon control, and teams started doing the 2v1 to mitigate it (so purple/red side could get double golems too).

Changes to the jungle make it unattractive now.

There are more gimmicky things, like Lux/Gragas stealing baron, or red side being able to take baron from the other side of the wall with certain champions (Trist, Cait, Lee Sin, and some other long range champions with sustained damage).

I think it's been more about the pick/ban control in Worlds this time around.

Although purple side barons have been god awful all tournament as well so who knows.
