Read the explanations to the rulings. They make sense. Imo Azubu got off easy and will be very happy with this. Overall sound rulings. Still it should never have been so easy to cheat, which is probably a reason why the penalty was not harsher.

Not sure how quickly they can get booths but they definitely should have some sort of solution for the matches today. Today's matches don't have an audience, so it shouldn't be an issue either way.

In sc2, we would have people posting the kr netizens reactions to controversies like this. ![]() They are all shittalking Woong for looking at the screen. Netizens already hated Woong for his scandals in the past and now he's basically a scum of the earth to them. Also, some are of course worried about whether Azubu will continue sponsor the two teams since the damage to their reputation is quite huge. But mostly bashing on Woong for being a retard. And yes I am Korean and am reading the responses.

I mean its like saying, leaving one million dollar on the table and telling people not to take it and only to find out when you come back 5 hours after, the money is obviously gone. Seriously, if you dont want people to take the money, then just lock it in a safe. I feel Azubu is getting the worst out of this just for riot not having proper experience in setting up tournaments. Now if they win 1 mil, they lose 200k. seriously, this is not teaching anyone lesson. This type of cheating wont be possible in next event, as riot will surely fix the issue from this event. so, this fine is pointless. It is not teaching the moral lesson of "don't cheat" since cheating wont be "possible" in next events.... I hope people understand where I am going with that one. so tl:dr; fine is not justified since cheating won't be possible in next events

somebody looked at the screen. well no shit it's super easy to do it, it could happen incidentally and purely by accident. and it sounds really dumb to hire people to look at them to see if they're looking at the screen. and if you see them doing something, well, you can't just forget it. like when you see a spoiler for a movie that you wish you didn't see. some of this stuff is funny though: "AzF Woong (Miss Fortune) facechecked bottom lane’s tribrush, which would have been an extremely risky move had he not known that the lane was likely unoccupied by TSM. AzF Woong (Miss Fortune) did not even cast “Make it Rain” to reveal the brush, indicating a high level of confidence that the brush was uncontested." i didn't know MF starts make it rain first. i usually level that last. on top of that woong played terrible for most of the tournament and facechecking would not surprise me.

I agree that it's mostly Riot who is to blame and i hope they won't do the same mistake again. However, other teams managed to control themselves and not look at the map, so removing all blame from the teams is wrong, too.

NFL/NBA players don't get fined for those kinds of numbers, actually 30k is a huge number for NFL/NBA fines. NFL has players making millions of dollars a year and riot thinks it makes sense to fine a League of Legends team for 30k? Even 6k a player is a decent chunk of change for professional gamers. This is just stupid and over the top, other teams get warnings because they cheated but it had no impact on the game, how does that make sense?

You are in a classroom taking a final. You are instructed to look only at your desk and not turn around. You turn around, get caught, and you blame the school for not providing an environment where you cannot cheat. "Why not give each student his/her own room so they cannot look at another person's exam?" Sounds very reasonable.

I mean I doubt a deduction would have been made if this hadn't gotten so much attention, but they should still follow their own rules. Whether those rules should be changed for the next season is another matter.

While i agree with your point, the thematically correct analogy would be: Teacher writes the solution for everything on the blackboard. You are instructed to not look at it. You look at it, get caught and say "Why did you write the solution on the blackboard in the first place?".

It's pretty questionable whether "other team's managed to control themselves", seeing as all these other instances of possible peeking were found, and more would probably be found if people took the time to investigate the other teams.
