Keep the rage to a minimum. This includes wait times between games, music, and balance.

Fair warning to all.

Being serious for a bit, there's no way you can legitimize this bo3 so they should just advance all 5 teams into a 5-team groupstage and have the top 2 go to finals

Thats actually not a bad idea. This is a cluster fuck

The 5 man team stage will take even more time then just playing the brackets out. Riot just don't have to time to do this unless they aren't all streamed.

This Bo3 is fucked, but the teams are also fucked. WE/CLG.EU have been playing for how many hours straight? How many hours of gameplay have they shown to other teams? They are coming into this at a massive disadvantage not matter what if the tournament continues and finishes this weekend.

Riot fucked up. It may be third-party related or they may be being maliciously attacked or just plain incompetence but they didn't have the backup systems/procedure in place to handle this. I think the best solution is to call it a day, try to resolve internet issues, have CLG play WE offline, cast the replay tomorrow and somehow pack the semis+finals in tomorrow? It would really suck for them to play the semi today.

The thing is, they aren't even playing the finals tomorrow. Riot decided that the finals ought to be a week after the semis because, you know, that keeps up the hype.

I know. That twitter account imho should be removed because they have 17,000 people following them and actually believe the bullshit they say there...

Do you have any idea how expensive LA Live is to book as a venue? There is NO WAY IN HELL Riot is going to have games tomorrow.

Well then this event is already a failure.

Pretty boring games. I'm not impressed with lol gameplay at all. The game is decent to play but impossible to watch as there's no action. Every single league of legends game ends the same way by walking around baron for 25 minutes. I can't really believe that 250000 people were watching that.

Bad time to watch, CLG style is boring, wait for M5

But I dunno. I don't know that you really make your plans for "well, we expect a catastrophic loss of Internet half a dozen times today."

That would be called a "contingency plan", Business 101

Rape victim should've had a gun on her. Contingency plan, obviously.

wtf is wrong with you

I'm not actually serious. I'm just surprised how people are blaming the victims in this.

Your point would be more valid if these kinds of problems hadn't plagued competitive LoL since its inception.

Hey, at Season 1 Championships they didn't even bother with regames or have a pause feature. PROGRESS!

Wait what? Are you serious?!

Yeah there definitely wasn't an incident where a player's computer crashed for like 10 minutes and the game went on while Phreak danced around the subject completely. Not bitter about it or anything.

One of the teams that was a favorite to take the championship basically got eliminated because they had to play out a game where their carry was disconnected for 10 minutes. They were also ahead when the DC happened and Riot didn't re-game.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Blizzard's excuse for no LAN is to prevent their game from being pirated (or something). What excuse does Riot have considering the game is supposed to be FREE?

why would you need LAN for an online only game?

AHAHAHAH

Shows how much game developers have already warped our brains. I have no hope for the future.

Oh come on. LoL isn't a classic LAN game. It's pretty much an MMO. Having LAN as a standard feature makes no sense.

It makes sense when Riot are trying to make pushes for LoL being the biggest ESPORT. They're trowing in a multi-million dollar prize pool but can't get insurance in basic features of competitive games that allow them to run without these kinds of delays. Sure, LAN may never be used by people who don't play competitively, but that's no excuse (besides, I'd play LAN with friends when we're on vacation and have to deal with mountain internet).

I'm not talking about LAN for events, I'm talking about LAN as a feature for everybody. It just makes little sense for them to do it.

They usually send a "portable" server at tournaments, yet this time since they are so close to their general Tournament Servers they didn't I guess.

Could we stop bashing Riot for a second, they are providing a free game, with a free stream, quality of the event is what it is, you think it's stupid: don't watch it.

Let's say you're a girl and I invited you for dinner at my place.
The dinner is a not as good as you espected, the steak is too cooked and I took ages in the kitchen,
At the end of the meal you can either decide that I am still a cute guy that tried hard and that I deserve a blowjob afterall, or that i am a total failure for missing the cooking of a gorgeous steak and just leave.

But spending the rest of the night sitting on my couch bitching about how the steak is better at your mom's is just being a moron.

So....
Riot owes us 500,000 blowjobs?
