At any point of IEM Kiev, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. (e.g. "Day 2: M5 hype was everything people expected") At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Kiev but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 20.1.2012 |

Moscow 5 took advantage of rain mans weak top lane performance/picks as well as oddones poor adaptability. I was really disappointed in how oddone played and I thought he would adapt better. Moscow 5 knows how to group and plays well in that sense but I think the aggressive counter jungling strat is flawed extremely and would not work against a solid jungler/top lane. CLG EU has shown this with their consistant wins vs moscow 5 in scrims. Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/orrlr/saintvicious_opinion_of_moscow_5_vs_tsm/So, this post downgrades M5's performance, points blame at specific players on the TSM roster and all while failing to provide specific constructive criticism. Real shit post. It's clear that Saint is just butt hurt about M5 being better at jungle control. Also regarding their spoiler in ogn: Show nested quote +We played blitz star bot and other comps we have never played before. So in short playing a finals match like it was a scrim.
In my opinon they felt they needed to hugh the spotlight again after kiev.
Also really stupid how he called Dignitas a one-hit wonder imo. Dignitas fall down has obv. other reasons. (Jatt leaving, school) and ofc not having Locicero more often.

Sorry I didn't set the spoiler tags right. As you can see it was a matter of seconds . I apologize.

Stats, coupled with the Providence ones ! As stated, I won't include wins and lose percentage because they make no sense to include. This table only shows the picking trends, and should be looked for the 10 top pick/bans (the higher it is, the more team independant it is), and the tendancy change (man where is Zilean :o).

Nice stats. I don't think win/loss count is completely irrelevant. I mean, if it's 100% winrate but with only like 2 games played then that's kinda irrelevant, but correlations like high pick rate, but low winrate, or w/e can help suggest that a particular champ may be overestimated or underestimated. It'll be interesting if nothing else.

holy shit i just watched Dig v TSM... xspecial personally zoned qtpie for like the entirety of g1... now i know why people have been praising him

just curious to the reasoning behind trundle not being played in highlevel recently? he hasn't seen any big nerfs? or is the other junglers just that much stronger?
err i know udyr/skarner/lee are crazy good but outside of them?

With the jungle rework, single target junglers have really fallen out of play.

Jungle change was an indirect nerf to him, but I don't think he's changed much overall. Just fallen out of favor with junglers around like Skarner, Shyv, buffed Shaco, etc.

Xpecial is the most under appreciated player for sure.
Chaox looks like best AD player in NA? I wonder why...

The only real single target Jungler that excels in current patch is probably Lee Singa. His E doesn't count... (LS maxes Q, Skarn Q AOE, Udyr R AOE, Shy W AOE, etc)
Shaco is gimmicky imo.

sona is apparently the most picked support. I think the overall flexibility speaks here and how tiny advantages snowball in a sona lane, because she can apply pressure no matter the lane position.

Shows how FOTM League is becoming. I seriously doubt that Zilean and Akali went from being very good champions at Providence to absolute shit in one tournament. I don't dislike it or anything, but with as many champions as there are, seems that the pros like to switch it up quite often.

remember that time you told me to stop posting stuff about AD Kennen?
yeahhhhhhh.
Also for kiev, m5's teamwork and communication was unmatched.

Karthus seems very stable in his own OP niche.

Jatt doesn't play anymore.

You also have to consider who actually plays Zilean. Nobody in europe plays Zilean apparently leaving the US teams. Scarra is horrible at Zilean and Regi needs to play something that can carry.
Was he actually popular at MLG besides the whole Vayne Zilean Yorick gimmick? It's been too long that I don't even remember now.

Like a Vayne/Janna bot lane?

But you're ignoring Akali...

win only the game when you get 2 level 1 kills, and it's the only close game of the 3, I mean you can't take away the lvl1 kills but it does make it feel like even more of a thrashing that the game didn't just snowball from there.
I have a theory about ad kennen, I think M5 was using it as a 4th ban. their bottom lane was winning with really anything (you had the commentators talking about how kog maw wasn't as good anymore before being used by them bot also). The things people have said already in this thread are true also. With no mana as long as he plays safe he can back 2nd every time, and he has the range to play safe. Call me crazy I think they do it to bend the game towards the european meta, not because they think he is superior to Vayne, Graves etc. or because he isn't better as ap.
