oh man, watching MLG. LoL could really do with some quality casters like SC2 has.

Infact, if someone unfamiliar with the games would watch the streams he would think SC2 is the multimillion dollar-prize game with the millions of players and LoL is some game used as timefiller.

I wonder how many people in here don't even recognize the players in this upcoming CS:GO showmatch. I'm getting pretty old.

No reruns since they already uploaded all the games on the twich tv.
http://de.twitch.tv/esltv_event2/b/297541548 SK VS CLG

http://de.twitch.tv/esltv_event2/b/297532733 Fnatic vs Sypher

, and on bottom you have other links aswell to other games.

Thanks for the hint. This is at least one advantage of twitch.tv

Finally I can see this stuff without lags.

Hotshot needs to stop taking farm from Chauster in mid-late game imo...

Chauster just not providing any threat at all atm.

I noticed last game everyone always gave Ocelote farm, like Wickd too moved away and let Ocelotes kass farm whenever he was nearby and you know how well Oces kass did that game. I think that CLG has quite a bit to work on with the farm priority among other things

It's not hotshot fault really, Chauster is like that which is so disappointing. He basically won't farm when bot tower is either gone or the opponents. Chauster just don't farm effectively and pretty much all the farm go to either SV or Hotshot. If you watch Ad players like Candypanda or Chaox, you will always see them free farm bot or pushed lanes.
I watched IEM China and Chauster had 154 cs in late as kogmaw. Also Elementz admit it that Chauster never farm enough. CLG's bot lane are their weakest, Bigfat even started playing AD in his stream and many were expecting him to play bot in this tournament.

This sort of compounds my dislike of trundle. I just never see him make all that much of a difference.

I think Trundle is seeing more play recently for very good reasons (especially given this new trend to build comps where junglers can get carry-level farm), but I disagree with how he was picked here. He's a situational pick that can be game-breaking against certain factors provided by the enemy team, but picking him 1st/2nd pick doesn't feel sound because you can't rely on your opponent making the picks he's good against.

There are two main things that Trundle is good against:
1) Bruisers that over-build resists compared to HP (e.g. Cho'gath, Udyr)--this is because of how his ult works. You get great value out of your ult stealing resistance stats from someone who quickly built to 150 armor/MR, but comparatively, against, say, a solo top GP that sat on base armor/MR and rushed Warmog's, your ult does almost nothing because the amount of HP stolen isn't percentage-based.
2) Teams that do not have a strong hard engage (once again, Cho'gath and Udyr are likely to show up here). As Jatt said at IPL "if the other team has no hard initiate, Trundle pillar lets you pick every fight". This is 100% true. The other team needs to have a strong initiation that can overcome Trundle pillar, or they get split up too hard by Trundle pillar and can't engage with good positioning.

I think Trundle picked up a lot of steam during the few weeks that everyone started copying Jatt's Phoenix Udyr, because Trundle is very strong against Phoenixdyr and how he's usually built. But he's not strong in the situation where the opposing team doesn't meet those criteria, and looking at the 2 team-comps SK played:

Gangplank, Taric, Tristana, Kassadin, Irelia - Tristana, Kassadin, and Irelia have no problems engaging past pillar. Gangplank builds Warmogs and has no stats for Trundle to steal, and can enter the fight through pillar a bit late with E/R.

Taric, Nocturne, Irelia, Vayne, Gragas - Nocturne, Irelia, Gragas, and Vayne have no problems engaging past pillar. Nocturne either builds squishy or builds Warmogs.

It is true that Nyph is extremely underrated, as are supports in general.

But this tournament he did nothing special so far, had some mistakes too. Oce and Candy did indeed very well so far at SK.

Why do you open the MVP vote before the tournament is over?

They award it right after the finals so they need to know who before.

And yeah, Nyph is good, he's one of the best support players around there.

Delay it five minutes so people can vote then? I realize they want to award it, but it shouldn't take people very long to vote if they're watching the finals.

What's also good is SK promotes him a lot and I remember they talk about him being the best on the team. They love him as a support.

I couldn't agree more when it comes to casters. Joe and Deman are absolutely great, while people like Riv, Phreak and myself just do this while we don't have more pro casters. [Edit: just to clarify: I think that Phreak and Riv are outstanding casters] Me? I'm the last person who should have been casting, but I love the game so much and I'm talking about it a lot anyway, so I got hooked from the first time I casted. I think I do an okay job entertaining mainstream players, but I know I don't have a lot to offer for the high end. Which is fine.

Here's how I see it: yes, we've been super slow about getting spectator mode out, but it's coming, and once it's out there, I'll shift my priorities to enabling and encouraging new casters. There's SO MANY LoL players and so many of you guys understand the game at a super high level--there's GOT to be Apollos and Huskies and JPs out there, and eventually we'll have us a day9 as well, who takes it a step beyond, and maybe we'll even have a Tastosis of LoL.

It'll happen. Stuff happens slowly in the world of LoL, but let's not forget this is the first game Riot Games has developed and we basically started from scratch with our community. SC2 had about a decade of BW from the get go.

I'm completely amazed at how far we got and how quickly we got there, but this wasn't a sprint. We're a long haul freight train, and we're still picking up speed.
My modesty is awesome.

Honestly, Daniel, you're the only one with any insight about the European teams. Joe is a fantastic caster but clearly is juggling too many games to know too much about the inside scene of EU LoL teams.

Also your general predictions about champions seem to be more accurate than most.

Zenon : You don't happen to have any top secret hints about "replays" ? Once you get replays, you'll get many potential casters who can try "blank casts" with replays to get some critics, and potentially rise to become great casters... I know I'll give it a try :p
