Taking longer in a bo1 LoL match is like winning 2-1 in a bo3. That's a ding against you. It would be best if they could set up tiebreaker matches but Pool B has to play and we don't know how many comps they have to run the tournament.

Also, I am pretty sure this was the rule from the start, and every team should know that rule in advance.

I haven't been following a ton of these kinds of tourneys, but didn't The International for DoTA2 also use game times?

Or anything except kicking the clear best team in this group out of the tournament entirely? This. Do they not have enough computers or something?

Yes but LoL is totally different than DotA in terms of time and what it means to play safe, in LoL it can be a much bigger advantage to sit back , heal up, grab global buffs, grab relevant potions and than push out, while in DotA it is much more push-orientated because of the lack of a Recall button.
