Game was pretty boring for the first 20 minutes to be honest, and then CLG's lategame just kicked in and they steadily began to dominate more and more.

I would like to see them carry out the same bans, but use their picks more wisely.

long loss doesn't bode well for WE -- no matter how professional they are, they just spent the better part of 50 minutes stuck in a losing game. This can't be good for their mindset. If CLG gets any sort of early advantage in either of the next two games it's going to work overtime in their favor

I still don't like Jax's snowball power curve even if he was allowed to fulfil it last game only because he was last pick. Being able to 1v5 lategame doesn't create gameplay or teamplay; it discourages it. I think his lategame should be flattened a bit to allowed for more exciting lategames and to force Jax to not play recklessly.

Edit: Daniel said it great when he said that Riot doesn't want DotA-style power curves where a carry can 1v5 and pretty much make every other type of hero feel irrelevant. Jax is one of those outlying champs, that despite its possible counters, goes against Riot's philosophy of making the game winnable at all stages of the game.

Kog'maw was on CLG, so I don't think it would have killed HSGG...

I wouldn't read much into them not giving up.

Was WE who dragged it out. They basically just turtled trying to get a favorable fight, which is more or less expected of them to do.

At this point WE is done. They have had options to take that mid inhib and just arent doing it, even if its 5v4. Mentally they have checked out.

And I disagree that CLG is struggling to end. Fidds/karth can wreak a team, and playing recklessly at this point results in a loss. Their playstyle is to just strangle you until you die.

Yeah, same thing as in SC2 "When you are ahead, get more ahead".

If Zenon ran his whole tournament, no one would have fun at all, the final game would be like a 1v1 with the only players who didn't get a penalty, but it would be on time.

It is LoL guys, you never giveup in LoL. 60 minutes into the game, anything before it doesn't matter, next teamfight win, wins the game if more than 2 survive, doesn't matter how far behind you are all game, you can end the game in the res timer at 60min

Pretty sure Saint finished with triple the CS of the enemy Jungler. Also pretty sure Saint decked out on items while Fiddle had a Zhonyas and was probably still workin on his Cap.

I do agree with you that jaxs late game is maybe a bit strong. But remember they did "kill" jax that last fight it was only zileans ulty that let him rez.

This tourney is really showcasing one thing- US jungle meta is LIGHTYEARS ahead of euro and asia. Every game is full of unoptomized itemization and picks. Saint is the MVP simply because its the equivalent of a hipster plat player going solo mid vs a 200 elo player. He knows how to farm effectively, and most importantly, what to DO with that farm.

Euros are too focused on building tank/support out of jungle and thus lose the ability to have 4 fed carries, even snoopeh said that he needed special farm from mid to consider building damage, whereas saint just straight up goes deeps no matter what and can STILL out tank the enemy team.

Asians are closer in terms of carrying out of the jungle, but they are VERY snowbally (fidds, GP) and it shows when they struggle.

Anybody know if this entire tournament (or at least some) will be on torrents or somewhere to download?
