I don't say this often, but this is a pretty good move, Blizzard.

On a side note, I REALLY hope that Blizzard has done some improvement over their cheesy storytelling. This is no way to pay homage to the original games.

In fact, I think it will be "Preorder LotV to get":

- LotV Beta Access
- Hearthstone card back
- Heroes of the Storm free hero on release (Artannis)
- Maybe something on WoW.

I'm 99% sure. And I will have it all :D

The beta access thing is a good move too, gets the volume they want into it as well.
Standard way blizzard do things which again is fine, good marketing as it works just remember this isn't for free for a long while.

Loved the WoL campaign but never finished the HotS campaign. Part of that was due to a very strong preference to playing Terran. In fact I hate to play anything but Terran.

Will have to see about LotV but regardless I will buy it for the multi-player alone. I believe that there is still no better RTS.

The preorder won't help the beta volume as much as you think. Most people who preorder will do so for prologue not multiplayef and if they do play MP it won't help with higher skill testing and feedback at all

The tree mission prologue it's Whispers of Oblivion and it's going to be free for everyone and launched at the same date of the actual game (same as a demo).
Boundled with the preorder it's the beta access witch will come before the release of said prologue and will contain said prologue.
I hope this explaination helps clear the misunderstandings.

Just my 2 cents but SC vanilla, SC:BW and SC2 WoL campaigns were great, as you had to build your own base and manage your resources to win the missions. SC2 HotS was a disappointment for myself as you were usually provided an fully functioning base right from the start of the mission and so many resources that you never even had to think about resource management during the mission. In HotS you only had to focus on spamming the unit introduced in the mission you were playing which is a really bad way to design missions. For example the mission in HotS where you first got the Infestor, you just group up Kerrigan with some Infestors and proceed to creep up the map and just neural everything.

SC vanilla, SC:BW and SC2 WoL campaigns prepped you to build a functioning base which in turn helped you in multiplayer more than just introducing the player with unit abilities as SC2 HotS did, which did not help in multiplayer at all because most of the units in campaign are not the same as in multiplayer. I really really hope that you get that 'old style' campaign in LotV where you have to build your base, think about resource management and focus on finding the right unit comp to win the mission.
