As I stated in that patch 10.6 thread I'm not sure how this current fiddles becomes a viable jungler.

He clears slowly, can't duel at all (before he was bad, but they basically halved his drain damage, and then further halfed his drain heal while giving E more consistent damage and putting old W damage in Q), he's got awful early game vision control, and bad lategame vision control because his effigies only get sweeper on them and he doesn't get sweeper. Like; how do you get gold on this champion? You can't duel, and you can't farm. And even if you could only do one, you don't have the vision control to do one of those things while avoiding the other jungler, and you don't have the vision control to gank.

I'm sure once he's got items he is his same old pop off self with R being a teamfight hard winner, but idk. I'm not really sure how he gets there ever.

I've only tried him in ARAM and did the standard "I have no idea what this champion does so tank we go" and to be honest.... Tank Fiddlesticks felt lowkey OP. I wouldn't be surprised if he finds his way into toplane as a Transcendence off-tank. His E is actually insane when you can just troll around spamming it with max CDR.

You cannot ignore him in fights since his AoE silence/slow has so low CD with max CDR and he actually does decent damage without much AP since basically everything is AoE.

At least for ARAM/teamfights it felt like he scaled so hard off CDR which essentially all tank items come with, making a Transcendence build feel like an obvious route. I dont really think he is gankable top since his either kit when used defensively is bloody rediculous.

Initial thoughts after playing him is he's now a support or off-tank toplaner.

Abyssal, Frozen Heart, Spirit Visage, Tabis. Had a crystal and tome was working towards Rylai's for AoE slows on Drain+Ult but we won before I completed it, Liandries or Morello are probably better as an AP utility item or just 100% tank and rely on his immense disruption and base damage with max CDR.

It's a bit hard to estimate his damage compared to normal games since Gathering Storm ticks twice as fast in ARAM. For what it's worth I had 2nd highest damage with a decent margin on a team with 3 carries and an Aatrox.

Was using Dark Harvest with Ravenous Hunter (which I think is only viable in ARAM due to how fast they both stack) and transcendence/Gathering Storm. For normal games I'd imagine a better page would probably be Aftershock or Comet. With Comet page you can grab Inspiration second for the juicy +5% CDR, it really felt like that strong a stat on him.

I can tell you I played full damage but with aftershock and felt like I did fucking nothing. But that's a one game sample size

I've got a new theorycraft build that has felt really good so far: Ivern-style Jungle Morgana. Key runes are Glacial Augment, free boots, Future's Market, Ingenious Hunter. Start Hunter's Talisman + refillable. Your first back is Fiendish Codex + Dark Seal, but you don't finish Runic Echoes. Instead you first build Twin Shadows/GLP (in either order) before getting Runic Echoes/Zhonya's (in either order).

The point is that you're basically playing Morgana support but with jungle income. You spec heavily into utility and gratuitously abuse Glacial, but you still bring damage with the Dark Seal (which you aren't at much risk of losing stacks on if you play sensibly). In teamfights, you definitely aren't doing any Flash-ult plays, but you bring ridiculous long-range engage / utility / pick potential.

Only thing to be aware of is that losing Runic Echoes does hurt in terms of missing out on mana, so you need blue buff badly.

I’ve been playing a “warm up” game in ARAM to test my Internet stability before playing summoners rift game as since quarantine I just can’t get my ping stable enough to play certain days. There’s so many little things about this mode and the way the ARAM players engage with it that really grind my gears, like being afk at match start is completely acceptable and common? I get mad but I ping spike to 1200 every 3-4 days so I’m just as useless.

It's common to have one or two afk people miss the first wave. If you got something worse than that it could be just bad luck.

I feel like you could stay in base for several minutes in ARAM without it being significant at all. It all depends on your comp and the afk champ I guess..

So am I the only one whose client is absolutely unusable this patch? Errors in champ select mean I can't lock in/change runes/summoners etc. Errors in queue that mean the queue won't pop up and won't show up as having been found. Just fuckfest all around.

I literally posted a complaint in the QQ thread about it yesterday. The client is GARBAGE, I've honestly started comparing it to the dark days when EUW servers were powered by hamster wheels. Right now I'd give it an 8/10 hamster wheels, but if this continues for another week or gets worse I won't even bother logging back in for a few months.

the client has been garbage ever since the client was released. ive been saying this ever since it came out but ill say it again just cause its relevant; how the fuck does a company with the resources like riot games have such a fucking massively incompetent development team? getting a game client running properly is like the first thing any game developer does.
the biggest thing i miss about dota other than nostalgia and memories of my younger self is the actual fking client

It is very strange, that's for sure. I don't expect the quality of Dota (Valve has a fairly experienced developer team at a company that literally revolves around a game launcher), the game was developed from the start by an established big publisher while Riot was an indie company, but the client has always been a complaint.

- The old one was the leftovers from an indie company, and that's why Riot got rid of it. Except...

- They replaced it with a new, shiny car that looks like a Ferrari but consumes as much gas as a truck, and feels like it already has 500k mileage. I've seen the client jump to 3GB memory usage, and I'm always left wondering why the fuck that's needed. My browser with 20 tabs open consumes 1GB, running a 1080p60 YT videos or Twitch streams top out at 2-3 GB. But the real problem is that it lags for no real reason. My new computer can play LoL at over 240 fps on max settings, but apparently opening my inventory is real difficult so it takes 2+ seconds. I can understand that there needs to be a delay as the client grabs info from the server, but I have literally caught the client struggling to load icons quickly, so the page opens up and you see it takes 1-2 seconds loading all the images. The game is on an SSD, there is no excuse for this.

Yeah, I hasn't played virtually any summoners rift this patch. I was about to start grinding over the weekend, but legitimately client issues forced me to dodge three straight games and I just said fuck it.

It's actually remarkable how bad the client is. Idk.

Weird, my experience with the client actually improved in the last few few weeks. I no longer get that champ select bug that made it impossible to select your runes.

That's gone for me but it's been replaced by just completely frozen clients when queue pops lol. Idc about lag I can work around that but when I literally can't even accept a game it gets to a stupid point.

Jungle Morg is definitely legit but I kinda feel like both Shadows and GLP rush is too much. How much additional gank assist is a second slow when you should have a slow on R and 3.5+ seconds of hard CC anyways?

I don't mind the lag spikes, I understand that that's largely out of Riots control. Just means I have to pick Reksai offstage of Lee Sin. Haha.

The client being this bad though bothers me. I had an error log created this patch that was 26gb in size. Like what the actual fuck.

Jungle Morg is definitely legit but I kinda feel like both Shadows and GLP rush is too much. How much additional gank assist is a second slow when you should have a slow on R and 3.5+ seconds of hard CC anyways?


I'd agree with this, and add that as legit as Morg jungle is, her big weakness is an inability to 1v1, and forgoing runic echoes for twin shadows / GLP exacerbates that. I think you're probably just straight stronger building RE then rushing Zhonya's / Abyssal mask (or SV). You'll farm faster, be tankier in fights due to farming faster, gank just as well due to having more downtime due to farming faster, and you'll have less mana issues and have an earlier power spike in comparison to either of those items.

That being said, I think Gragas in general just kind of does Morg's job better in this early game jungle meta as an AP teamfight initiator. Stronger early, can safely duel, skirmish, evade and contest objectives against the Olafs of the world where as Morg is kind of just a sitting duck. Being in the river with an Olaf or something posturing around Drake 1 thru 3 as Morg is just impossible, but Gragas can posture and poke while having the escape and same hard engage. Morg probably better late game, but Gragas has more say in creating a lategame with gold on his team's win conditions whereas morg is kind of just stuck playing wherever the other guy isn't, imo.

So yesterday I dodged an ARAM game well before the lock in. Check op.gg today and see that the game still happened and I was afk. In similar light, two games yesterday I again experienced the annoying bug where the client doesn't show available ARAM choices and your team's picks, it bugs out after one or two people reroll. So someone on my team looked like they had Zoe, but actually played Jayce, and I wasn't able to pick her like I would have liked to.

Client is garbage. At the very least, I have not had any lag spikes for the last few days, but other people in my games have complained, so it's still there.

I understand that that's largely out of Riots control

I don't think the EUW lag spikes are due to ISP routing entirely, maybe in NA. I think the servers are under too much load, that's why people lag one game and not the next, server prioritizes certain games. But these problems started happening before the lockdown...

Is the high load really riots fault? They have higher server load than ever, and they have less people to throw at server maintenance.

These problems starting appearing shortly before EU lockdowns, and if the client is lagging/bugging out because of increased server load, then that implies poor design. UI behavior should not break because the server is slow. When I press a button, I expect it to do what it's supposed to, even slow response would be better than right now, where features are just broken.

Oh yeah, I agree the client is fucked.

I was saying the ping spikes in game kind of is what it is, I don't blame riot for that. I do blame riot for the atrocities that must be occurring in that clients code, 100%.

A few years ago, Riot made a big fuss in NA about streamlining ISP routing between players and servers, i.e. people living in San Francisco might see their data bounce to New York, then back to LA, before reaching the servers in Chicago, resulting in big ping fluctuations and packet loss. That was something I wouldn't blame Riot for, but they still managed to solve it by talking with providers.

The EUW problem right now seems to be server overload: one game people have their normal ping and its stable, the next game they seem to be put in lower priority, where they have 500 ping and packet loss. That's what was happening to me up until a week ago, I could literally see the lag, 1-2 second input delays every minute: now I still see two kinds of games, where I have 19 ping (something I haven't had in over 5 years lol, usually sit at 21-25) but op.gg doesn't see the game, or 27 ping with matches being recorded, and usually 1-2 people sitting on 500-1200 ping.
