Personally I think champions like Ryze need to exist, mostly as an exception to the rule of "mage = squishy" mentality. You can still be tanky (or bruisery) and still do damage, if given enough time/gold/levels to become relevant.
I think this most recent buff is fine, the last time he was meta was a while ago and they slightly over-nerfed him on the Q damage change that made him fall out of meta last time.
Side note/question: if tank meta is indeed coming back, does that mean hypercarries and champs that do %HP damage (Vayne, Kog'Maw, etc.) will return to the meta champ pool?

I used to pick Cho when ryze was good. Shit was funny, he couldn't get close enough for w without eating a silence.

Kog is already a top competitive pick. Vayne is more problematic cause it doesn't matter how much damage you can potentially do if you can never live long enough to do it.

Ryze is fine. A bit problematic in solo q cause he can just free farm and become a beast late game due to his scaling but competitive, he was/is at a good place. I never watched a game and thought he was OP. (e.g. last time felt this was probably good Zeds).
Kog is competitive but I wouldn't say top. Graves, Lucian I'd still put above Koggles.
That said, the 4 protect 1 comps that teams tend to comp for Kog is absolute yawnfest to watch.

Edit: Which CN teams are running Kog? Last I watched in EU LCS, shit was boring as hell to watch. Was like 20 min in before first blood. afaik KRs haven't gone back to Kog either but as a region, they're not as ADC focused I suppose (compared to CN).

Yeah, there is no really great itemization for Karma top. You need CDR, manaregen, and survivability, but do no damage if you go tanky. Its basically impossible to get all of them, so you are just really vulnerable to allins as you very carefully lane with your fragile ass morellonomicon build.
If only there was like a ROA but with CDR instead of mana. Why would you need to go tanky...? Just go morello into sorc shoes/haunting guise.
Because if you don't have a little survivability you get flashed on and instantly killed in ganks, your DPS takes a bit of time to spam, its not instant burst, and you need to survive until W procs. You're welcome to try but I keep getting jumped on by like Riven/Wukong/Xin + jungle and dying in one combo. You can't really stay far enough back to avoid this, or else you lose out on a lot of CS and push the wave unintentionally with your Q, making you even more vulnerable to ganks. Top lane is long enough that its an issue.

I mean I just played Janna/Kog with Lulu top for a partial juggermaw in Solo Q, worked out pretty well. We had a Zac jungle for frontline and this insane Kennen who I speed boosted repeatedly for hilarity
tl;dr 4 protect 1 is fun but 3 protect 1 with a super fed mage is more fun :^)

That teaser thinking about it seemed like a joke, it hit the three biggest skin rage buttons. It's dark and edgy, it's for a champion with a load of skins (dae zac) and it's teemo.
Skin looks pretty sick though

In LCK right now the GE Tigers are the only ones able to successfully run a 4 protect 1 comp built around Kog'Maw. If memory serves it's Lulu top, Janna sup, Nunu jungle, and a safe champion for mid (I want to say Ori but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong).

And am I the only one who's getting a Vietnam-like feel from the new Teemo skin? Though that might be too old for most people (myself included) to get... Maybe it'd be better to compare it to the more recent Middle East conflicts?
