You'll generally miss 3 minions and arrive in lane at level 2, so champions like Sion or Riven can bully their opponent.

When is this going out for NA?

Vs ranged champs where u would take a ton of poke at level 1 starting wolves is really good

It just seems like Rod/Glory, Triforce, Heart would make one hell of a sticky tanky ryze with a lot better consistent damage due to the Triforce procs than you would likely get from AP/Pen etc Nobody's ever going to get triforce over seraph's. You need seraph's, RoA, frozen heart and boots. At that point, you'll either need void staff because people will have MR, or you'll need some MR yourself. There's just no room for triforce.
Sure, but Seraphs takes a long time to charge and leaves you with a big power trough when you're still charging tear. Especially if you want to get RoA charged in any decent time. Sheen/Triforce gives nearly as much damage as Seraphs without the weak build up*. Plus it gives other nice stats like move speed/health etc which help you stick to enemies and continue to do damage.
*No, really. Seraphs will add about 199 damage on a QWE (one bounce, level 18, fully stacked rod, no other mana) from AP and 110 from mana = 310. Triforce adds 40.5 from AP, 30 from AD (ignoring crit chance), 27.5 from mana and 212 from the proc= 310. (assuming one proc per rotation, if you get more triforce pulls way ahead)

Assuming you go with Mana Crystal + pots at start for Ryze top, back when you can for Tear and TP back to top lane (I think you get Tear at/around 4:30 on Ryze with perfect CS?) and spend the next 5-10 minutes in top lane using Q and E to farm/harass, you get Seraph to transform at around the 23 minute mark, which is also around the time his RoA begins to be done stacking (assuming you go Tear + RoA first), so he hits a huge power spike at that point and turns into a bruiser-y front line mage.
There's also the issue that for Ryze you tend to spam your spells to maximize damage (this assumes you pop R first and start spamming WEQ as much as you can) and can't reasonably weave in AAs to get the Sheen passive proc to go off.
|
Triforce also costs 1k more gold. I'm not sure how you can use the phrase "power trough" for Seraph's Embrace and then ignore how costly Triforce is. And also say it ignores the weak buildup. Like what? You're busy dumping several k of gold into crit, attack speed, and AD on Ryze.

At level 18 your rotation isn't going to be QWE if you play Ryze correctly. Also wth is the point of talking level 18 stuff if you're advocating triforce for the 1st item timing?
Seraph's shield beats Triforce's 250 HP any day once it's stacked too.

Still think they should do something about W. With a quicker W delay/lower CD, he'd probably be usable and just altogether more fun.
About Ryze, I can't see weaving in autoattacks consistently, particularly in fights. Maybe if I really wanted to bully a lane hard.
|
You can do it easily until you're level 9+ with above 20% CDR, more or less. You can't reset Q fast enough after the other spells so you've got time to weave autos before every Q, basically, while repositioning.

I think they want people who hate her to think she's nerfed more than actually nerf her more, not unlike how they "fixed" division protection when in reality it's still near impossible

I used 18 to show how much damage seraphs caps out at. It gains damage relative to levels/items slower than triforce.
And yes, at level 18 your rotation isn't going to be QWE. But similarly you're also not likely to get only 1 auto attack off and the longer you extend your rotation to more likely it is that you're going to get an increasing number of triforce proc's off per rotation.

But guys, seriously, you don't think tear/righteous glory could be interesting on ryze? Cheaper that RoA and no ramp up time, you lose the ap that doesn't do that much for you anyway, but you gain the awesome active, which is really good on ryze.

I think that the greatest thing in the world is a Baron-buffed siege minion with Banner buff and Bloodboil.

Who needs a protect-the-Kog comp when you can have a protect-the-Kog-protecting-the-minion comp? It's such a shame that Lulu can't shield minions

This is when Karma mid and Soraka support with Nunu jungle comp rears its ugly head.

Ryze's Q was nerfed in patch 1.9 from a point higher than it is now:
Base magic damage decreased to 40/60/80/100/120 from 60/85/110/135/160. leagueoflegends.wikia.com
Current:
BASE DAMAGE 40/60/80/100/120 magic damage ⇒ 55/75/95/115/135 magic damage
I don't really like Peanut head though. I feel he's too boring to play in competitive since most of the skill in Ryze doesn't come from mechanics but rather game knowledge.
One of the scarier opponents in the jungle pre-Cinderhulk, the changes to the jungle in 5.5 benefited no one champion greater than Sejuani. While we're not strictly nerfing her ability to jungle, we're aiming to reduce her damage spike midgame which often comes before opponents can itemize properly, let alone contain her spree of sustained lockdown. Finally, we're putting a real penalty for missing your bolas, as in a lot of cases the Sejuani that managed to miss was rewarded with such a heavy slow that many teams would just get run over anyways. I'm pretty sure slower clearing champs like Voli gained more from the jungle but Sejuani just happened to already have a good win rate compared to all the other tank junglers in 5.4.

Has any pro team ever run Karma as a solo laner top or mid? I could see it working, if you had no intention of being relevant past mid-game and only intended to support Kog/minions thereafter. From a utility perspective it's a big step back from Lulu, though; the shields have roughly equal values, but you miss out on Wild Growth, and Karma's speed-up doesn't scale with AP like Whimsy does.
EDIT: Having learned that Karma's W procs her passive multiple times, I'm now tempted to try W-max top Karma to just ruin some poor melee's day.
