I understand why hitting Corki's Q is so much harder in lane. Where before it was an easy hit against any AD with equal or less range whenever you could auto them, now if you auto -> back off and corki casts phos bomb at max range, you're just barely out of range when the bomb explodes.
Tiny change but it makes an enormous difference in the lane phase since corki's poke is much weaker and less reliable.
Didn't think much of it when the patch came in but now that I've played him a few games it's actually a sizable laning nerf. In any extended fight it's still easy enough to hit though.

I feel that Aatrox is pretty hard to play right now because everyone and their mothers build Morello's. It'll get better as that item is getting nerfed.

you'd be surprised how many people never bought it before vs. heal characters even though it was more stats/gold than athene's (like since athenes was slightly nerfed mid s4)

With the addition of Zzz' rot gate, righteous glory and complete overhaul of Ohmwrecker into a tank item I am hopeful that they will at least introduce one item for APs and ADs before next season. I am also curious if they will rework masteries again.

I didn't mind morello's cost tbh, the problem was there were no alternative at that pricepoint that is worth getting for most mages Because alternatives are costed more appropriately (Grail). 2100 is stupidly cheap. I would say the closest equivalent is mpen boots+haunting guise. What? How on earth are those two items an alternative to Morello? Neither occupy the same intended spot in your inventory (mana regen + CDR item) or fulfil the same role. I can't think of a single champ that would go for that item combination over Morello, except for like Rumble, and he isn't getting Morello anyway. The closest I can think of is Malz, and even then every single Malz I see goes for a mana item first. They aren't anywhere near alternatives. You don't need morello or athene's on Malzahar. I generally just get two doran's.

I think some ap supports were doing it vs Aatrox, WW. Jax etc.

Getting an utility item as a support makes sense. But as a midlaner it might be harder to justify.
I think Riot should have nerfed the AP instead.

I think a bigger part was it juts led to some awkward item choices later on if you got 2 mana regen items. That means you can only have three out of: Rabas, zhonyas, void staff, lich bane, a defensive item (banshees/ga/randuins/whatever), dfg and haunting guise.
Most mids want at least 4 of those, while also not really benefiting from the additional mana.
From what I saw everyone was just typically buying chalice into the other items vs ap, and morellonomicon into other items vs ad. Why go for a second mana item unless you're ryze~
It kind of worked on ori because of how useful the extra mana is for moving the ball around, and because she's so utility, you can just go rabas zhonyas void and not feel too gimped by the lack of another damage item, but I don't feel as strong doing that on many other mids.
