Really the problem is that most pros seem to think they need to hide their "insight" otherwise teams will know Dyrus is good at Singed, or something.

i had a game today where steel legion lux e and q were literally invisible. noone in game on my team could see any particles at all. is this a common bug? i know that it makes it hard to see but the particles were actually completely gone

I'm probably the furthest thing from a tilt lord when it comes to losing but playing adc on a team that doesn't give a shit about you really grinds my gears.

knowing when to jump ship from your adc and focus on helping everyone else rather than the dead weight is key to support play in solo queue though.

I'm talking everything from supports diving in team fights to team mates competing with you for empty lane farm when you are leading the team in kills to ignoring requests to let me finish an item before an objective. not being able to team fight when you are huge because you have a trick2g disciple on your team.

I know how to get carried I'm talking about people not letting you carry them

Man I've had some good times playing drunken lol. Sometimes I'm a God, sometimes I try to solo the lvl 12 adc as a lvl 8 Leona. Basically judgment calls stop existing, all in all the time, and if it works and I'm snowballing then it just keeps working.

Wondering how adding those 2 games near base exit will affect gameplay and sieging overall. I think it's a good change, gonna see in couple of days I guess.

So going on about a month's worth of internal playtest, the gates aren't nearly as revolutionary as one might thing. The most noticeable play is when someone keeps poking their head out of the gate and pulling back in to harass siegers. The gates also making pathing into your jungle marginally faster. On paper it sounds like "oh my god is this even still the same map?", but in my experience it doesn't change the game up quite that much.

how do the gates interact with forced movement? if you are headbutted by alistar into a gate do you get knocked through it or over it by the same rules as a wall? what if a blitz grabs you while standing on it? are you dragged inside or kept outside? does it have the same rules as a wall if azir ultimates you into it? those are mostly the areas i'm interested in. strategically it'll allow a bit of flanking on a long siege, but tactically i wonder if the gate is treated strictly as a wall for the other team by coding, or if there are more interesting interactions.

Just a random question based around League but geared towards older gamers:

Is it rose colored goggles or are modern gamers (league players or otherwise) just people with worse attitude while playing?

Ok, so I've been drinking, but I was musing with a friend about some of the old games I used to play on the pc or Xbox a decade ago. I remember arguments and trash talk and all of that.. but I never really remember people blaming games (team games) that were losses on anybody. You just kinda' accepted that you lost, as a team. If your score was good you accepted that you were good but not good enough to carry that team that game.

I've vaguely thought about it before but never actually just sat and thought about it deeply before. I was a hardcore gamer for a decade and remembering very, very, very few instances of what even the average asshole in league has. I can even remember names of trolls in specific games because of how rare that type of attitude was compared to now.

I remember it happening occasionally in FPS games, but you have to take into account that there's a lot more interaction in LoL. If people on your team feed, then it directly affects you because then your fed opponents will just kill you. Or if your jungler doesn't help you and you think he should, it's easy to blame losing lane on that instead of yourself. In something like an FPS, if someone on your team sucks, it generally doesn't really have any effect on you other than losing the game. You don't have to worry about fed opponents or anything like that.

Yeah, I think it's just the nature of the MOBA genre that makes people rage particularly hard. Certainly playing DotA on Garena back in the day wasn't any better (in fact the lack of matchmaking meant it was even worse since the skillgap between players was potentially immense). Add to that the fact that free-to-play games tend to attract a younger audience in general and it's a recipe for disaster.

Thinking on it a bit more I think Moba is part and lack of voice chat is another. When voicechat first became big (xbox in particular) people either a: didn't talk at all or B: talked just enough to say what was needed.

Very, very, very few people just talked like fucking idiots or spammed music and all of that shit. It came later. So I suppose if I had played a few more years (and I did occasionally w/ friends) assholes in general became more frequent. I guess my thought process is that people, in general in online games, accepted worse behavior as the accepted norm. That simply allowed every child and bitter asshole to act out their anger/bullshit without being called on it.

I remember in old games your username would stick. You were an asshole? People remembered and you'd be lobby banned. Clearly not the case in LoL because not only do people not control lobbys but also because with millions upon millions of players you'd never remember anybody's' name.

I'd say that for the most part you are looking through rose tinted glasses. Team games will always have this issue. The community hasn't really changed from DotA -> DotA2 from what I've experienced/known.

The biggest thing you have to look at is that everyone has their own reason/motivation for playing. The chance that your teammate is playing for the same reason as you is pretty low. The overarching goal might be that they want to have fun, but what fun means to you isn't always the same as what it means to some other random teammate you meet in solo queue. This is why people generally find communities with shared interests, and play/interact with people from that community

Even though dota/dota2 etc are similar and obviously relevant, I'm looking for beyond that scope. If mobas have been that way since Aeon of Strife and other shit back in Starcraft BW were big; ok I can accept that maybe this game somehow brings out the worst in people. I suppose I'm asking more if people who played 10+ years ago in other games/communities long enough saw a similar mindset with players or not.

And if people think Mobas have been that way since forever feel free to share that too; it's interesting.
