I don't get the constant desire to make the jungle harder and smite wars more important. Jungle camps might as well be capture points. Jungling is supposed to be about balancing map control, lane pressure, and farming, not about auto attacking monsters and pressing d at the right time.

Huge objectives are just crap-shoots even with smite, smite doesn't make it any less random. People like to play up good smiting or smite steals when every single pro player says those situations are almost always up to luck. Smite is just there to make sure you can't not have a jungler if you have someone with smite. They already have the jungle items to force that situation so I see no need to have smite anymore.

There is definitely skill involved in pro level Smite steals >_>. Like yeah, it's partially luck, but there is a lot of game sense required to know when to go in and try and pull it off.

Here's my translation.

#1 - Riot wants counterjungling and Feral Flare farming to be better.

#2 - Riot thinks that they can't make that happen without overhauling how camps work. They'll go about this in two ways.
- 2a - Increasing jungle difficulty so there's a bigger difference between a super fast feral flare clear and a mediocre clear.
- 2b - Putting some sort of buff on every single big monster, making counterjungling a bigger deal.

#3 - Riot is dissatisfied with the jungling items (again) and wants to redo them (again).

My big worry reading it is that point 2 is going to negatively impact tank junglers, who aren't bad because of a lack of ganking ability (many gank well), but that they have an inability to clear well and 1v1 well, giving them less time to gank and making them susceptible to counterjungling by damage junglers.

However, the item overhaul may be able to help with that, fingers crossed.

Also come on, let's be real, smite wars are exciting. It's one of the most daring plays in League and to remove it would be horrible.

Sounds more like an end of a contract tbh. He said he got the offer in OCT 2013, it's Oct 2014, contract probably just ended, and chose not to renew.

Heh. pretty happy about thorin. he's really not professional, regardless of the content he makes he needs to tone himself down if he wants to be able to be employed.

it was pretty funny that he shit talked Regi and all of TSM and knew they couldnt return fire without being fined by riot.

I wonder whether these jungle changes are affected by, or end up resolving, the long-standing discrepancy between competitive jungler picks and solo queue jungler picks. In solo queue, Rammus and Amumu have the two highest win rates in the game, and Lee Sin and Elise are both in the bottom ten.

its a lot easier to mis-aim lee sin or elise's valuable spells than it is rammus and amumu.

EDIT: absolutely did the wrong word.

because jungling is something that drastically changes given the level of organisation/communication you have and rammus / amumu are two champs that need very little of either to do their thing.

Back in ROC DotA (3.6, 3.7, 3.9c, etc...) there were in effect 2 junglers. There was the jungler that took the mid camps. He was usually the one helping to gank and guard mid (Stealth Assassin, Mage Slayer, Niax, Toto). There was also the jungler that took the jungle area opposing long lane edges(Manny, Wolf, Lancer, Herc). The ones in the jungle area usually powerfarmed their way to 6 before coming out to seige. It seems a little unreasonable to try to get one position to do both at the same time like what Riot is trying to do. I never played DotA:All-Stars so I don't know if this was an issue in that game or not.

Who's Toto? Herc? And who's the Mage Slayer (are you thinking of Antimage? Never remembered him jungling, but I started during the very last 5. versions and it quickly moved onto 6.).
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Toto was the nickname for Titan of the Order. He was this big grey golem champ for Sent. His 6 was to pull everything to him and then you used another ability to aoe stun. Mage Slayer was the mana burner w/ Blink for the Scourge. He was purple w/ the two blades. Herc was this big orange orc with the healing totems and had a battle cry for his 6.

Regarding Thorin: Nice. After his latest round of hate tweets a friend of mine got so worked up he corporate carpet bombed CBS asking them if that is a fair representation of senior staff at CBS-owned companies and if that is the desired public image of their employees. Complete with links to tweets and official statements of all the bullshit over the last year (the poland issue, the racism (monkey) issue, etc).

I laughted at him for spending the better part of a day figuring out executive email adresses, and told him they wouldnt give a flying fuck what some internet nerds get worked up over.

Of course now I'm never gonna hear the end of it how he got personally Thorin fired -.-
Do not regret. Always forward, never back.

Oh. Rework/changed I guess. I thought Elder Titan was much more recent than that though, and Mage Slayer became Antimage and was sentinel, yeah.
Herc became Juggernaut it seems (got Omnislash for an ult now), with Sven getting the "battle cry" ult (if that's the thing that just doubles or triples his damage).

We should celebrate this Thorin thing by somebody posting links to all the controversial things he said so that I can read all of it.
