Say you make a bet for 10 dollars. After making it, you realize there is (almost) no chance of winning, but backing off means you lose all 10 dollars, then you night as well stick with it on the outside chance that you win. Costs 3 to dodge, costs me around 10-13 to lose. Even if I'm only right on ~25% of my dodges, I come out even + less aggravation. It costs zero to dodge. Your LP gains and losses are controlled by your MMR relative to your LP. While you do lose LP immediately on the dodge you get it back the next game or two.
The question of dodging vayne is the same as the question of all dodges. If you think you have a <50% win chance dodging is LP\MMR positive.

Nevertheless, dodging has its costs because it inflates your MMR without moving you up in ranking. You can potentially be in bronze 5 battling D1 opponents.
It is difficult to say for sure if it is worth it.

Man, I don't know what game you guys are playing
But in my level of elo hell (D3 kayle's tricksters), picking amumu gets you invaded. I assumed it was pretty normal b/c he has a significantly weaker lvl 1 than most other junglers, so he came with a "pls invade me" sign on his back. Or something. I'll try and play a game or two later today, see what happens~

but when you consider amumu's winrate despite the increased likelihood of invasion, it does make you wonder whether being invaded actually hurts you more than it does the invading team.
like what if amumu wasn't even that strong of a champion, and his high winrate is just a result of people with little to no invasion experience doing it for the first time in a month just because they are going up against an amumu?

It's totally fine to get invaded as Amumu. Even if you happen to give FB you can recover easily. What's really bad is getting ganked at level 2 at your second buff. THAT hurts.
But yeah, my ranked 5s team runs Amumu jungle pretty much every game for Curse of the Sad Equalizer Time.

Also amumu is incredibly easy to play.It makes perfect sense for him to have high winrate.

has a skill shot, confirmed for too hard for most people. and blowing your ult on a single person is pretty pointless.

id like to say "just tell your laners to ward jungle entrances early, or ask them to pick strong early champs to assist".
but most solo q people actually refuse to take instruction even if its objectively correct, so i dont actually know if theres much you can do to stop things like that happening.

Dodging is always 3, 10-13 is generally how much I lose when I lose a game.

I only play Amumu jungle, if I have to jungle and have been building tank, but i recently noticed all top amumu jungle players in korea build ap. I tried ap amumu jungle and its pretty good, lots of damage and fast clear.

dodging is -4 on the first dodge and -10 on subsequent dodges pretty sure

Am I the only one that thinks Ashe is really strong right now? You kinda concede lane farm a bit but the hawkshot passive and avarice make up for it and then you're just this huge lategame god that has massive teamfight presence because tank teams aren't a thing anymore.
I think I'm going to pick up Ashe as my secondary ADC, I'm practicing her in d1 right now.
|
ashe has always been fun (well at least to me who is not really an adc player) but I wouldn't say she's in a good spot right now. She isn't as strong as trist/kog late and even if assassins see less picks nowadays you still have a lot of junglers and toplaners who can fuck you up easily.
She's pretty much where she has always been : arrow bot, if you're bad at the mechanical plays of adcs but are good with mages pick ashe when you have to ad and win games just through superior arrow usage, hard engages are very important in solo queue (see the amumu/malph syndrome).
And please don't pick ashe into braum or alistar or yasuo, ever.

Ashe is between average/bad at every point of the game except laning. With a good poke support 2v2 not hard but junglers kinda rape you pretty hard.
Crucible and all those champs that just block it is just too much.

I think I'm going to pick up Ashe as my secondary ADC, I'm practicing her in d1 right now. Does she really? Every time I play her I end up: 1. Going full genja in fights and my team dying at my feet and finding it hard to hit more than two with my ult; 2. dying as soon as I try to aa; or 3. Winning handily because my team crushes enemies regardless of my shitty ult that hit the top and support only and a few aas. You almost certainly have better mechanics than me though. She seems to only (for me) to cause won team fights to be won really hard.

if ashes w scaled with attack speed instead of CDR like yasuo she would be good. wet noodle dps is just not acceptable compared to the damage output of literally every other adc.
|
I dunno, my personal thoughts are that she's very strong in the meta right now. The ADCs that are good against her (Corki, Sivir) are not in favor and she's good against Lucian as far as I can tell. You win lanes like Ezreal and you can just safe farm against a lot of lanes with Volley even from behind. Twitch is probably a hard matchup but Arrow kinda negates that at 6 and as long as your jungler comes bot a lot you basically always win a 2v3/3v3.
I'm gonna test more and see if I find any really unplayable matchups. I just dominated an Ezreal/Leona lane as Ashe/Morg in d1 even though my last hitting sucked. As long as you can get away with it I feel like double dorans -> avarice/zeal/zerks -> shiv -> IE is really strong.
In unrelated news, Darius is top tier right now for top laners, imo.
|
What makes you say that Darius is top tier right now?
I'm not disputing you, I just want to hear your opinion is all.
|
actually he's been super popular in high normal right now I've been curious about that
|
He does a ton of damage and can all-in very well and he beats a lot of matchups so hard that they literally can't CS. He's really good against anyone melee because of the amount of damage he dishes out. He has very few counters imo although I haven't played a lot of them. I was talking to one of my friends who had asked Chauster and a few other pros about what's good top atm and all of them mentioned Darius.
