oh no, streamers wont have music on anymore so I will have to put on myself.
Really I can understand people are upset about this but how did you not see it comes? esp with the ever increasing viewer counts on Twitch it was only a matter of time until it would get clamped down on.

It mutes game sounds/music as well. Also it's more fun to listen to same stuff as other viewers/streamer.

The only thing that worries me is old ogn vods. I still haven't explored them all and it's always fun to go back to permalinks for the ktb vs skt judgment day stuff.

I enjoy LoL quite a bit, but am getting bored with just doing ARAM and comp stomps and other stuff like that. I'd like to get into the blind pick/ranked categories and try to fall into a role. I want to have one role that I am particularly more experienced at so that I can concentrate my ip on getting champs for that role, and maybe move up the ladder a bit.
1) What role do people see being called the least? I want to choose a role that isn't taken very often. my gut instinct is to go with support because it seems like no one ever likes to play support.
2) Do you guys have any resources that would help a support to learn their craft better? (I know to buy wards, protect the ADC/APC and all the really basic things like that, but want to have some sort of streamer that I can watch that explains it all to me as they are playing, like wingsofdeath)
3) What champs should I pick up and try and master first? I played LuLu when she was free and she seemed cool, I also just bought thresh. You have to be comfortable in every position before starting ranked. That particularly means:
* Being comfortable jungling; * Being comfortable in a 2v2 lane; * Having a decent knowledge of your lane opponents in top/mid (e.g., be scared of Darius/Fizz while bullying Nasus/Kassadin); * Knowing your role in a teamfight and how it changes depending on your position (if you're used to playing tops like Jax or J4, you need to change mentalities when you play Janna and peel instead of dive).
What I recommend is to play similar roles regardless of what position you're in (other than ADC). Do you prefer tanky support-ish CC monsters? Play something like Maokai top, Amumu jungle, Cho'Gath mid, Braum/Thresh support, etc. Do you prefer burst champions? Play Darius top, Kha'Zix or Wukong jungle, Annie support/mid, etc.

Do you have to be comfortable in every position before starting ranked though? I am still really comfortable in 1 and semi-comfortable in 2 total.

Depends what position you prefer and if you are ok with dodging.Cause you probably dodge more champ selects than you play lol.

Different people have different definitions for "comfortable". By "comfortable", I mean at a minimum having two champions that you can play without being a liability to your team, and without having to look up builds or abilities.
Preferably, it means understanding the most common matchups (e.g., knowing what to do vs Blitzcrank or Thresh) and your responsibilities to your team (e.g., map control, or consistent DPS, or peeling, or diving).

The only thing you need to be comfortable to play ranked is pressing the start game button. You don't need to be a super good player just to play ranked. Just dive in and learn as you go.

And in one action twitch kills off a huge section of people who support it.

I have 0 champions for 3 roles, 1 for top lane and as much as one needs for jungle

I disagree that looking up how a pro builds a champ is a negative when considering champions. I look up runes/masteries on champs in ranked all the time and I've been playing this game since early s2. They change with patches and I expect pros spend more time optimizing than I do.
Ranked is the best form of learning this game. If that's really the goal, feel free to jump in and play the champs you want to learn. You might get flamed. Your teammates may not like you. It happens.

Lantern to shield or save allies, flay to knock back or in, etc.) and item builds, you should be ok. Just be 'competent' in every role so that you aren't a bronze 1 top while a gold 1 support.
If you don't want to play top then pick a tanky champion and don't feed. You won't be involved in half the game anyway. Keep your opponent in lane and you can play a nice 1v1 for 30 minutes.
Renekton, shyvana, maokai, shen all qualify.

I feel like we're talking past each other. For someone who has literally never played ranked before, I'm not saying you can't start it until you have determined mathematically optimal runes and masteries for every champion in the game. I'm saying you shouldn't queue up for ranked if when forced to top, your best champion is Vladimir but you max W and have to ask "is this guy AD or AP". It's fine to play ranked if you can top Mundo, have a vague idea not to fight at level 1 against a red pot Riven, avoid feeding, and build tanky. That's a pretty low bar to meet.
