He's actually pretty meh if you can set him behind early, yeah, because he still doesn't jungle that fast (although faster than before). You won't do that 1v1 unless you're Lee or Elise obviously.

The issue is jungle in general now has a far bigger impact in the game (what riot wanted). But now they're misattributing the problem with current rotation of champion in jungle pool, with "oh these champions are out of line", when in reality it's the role in general being really strong, not the champion pool. If they were just willing to buff ADC's, it would make junglers as a role overall to be a slightly weaker force in the game.

Once all the single-target junglers have been nerfed into Olaf-tier, jungle GP will actually be a thing and they'll have to nerf his ult too.
Then the only thing left will be AoE clears and Riot will have to rebalance camp monster HP values until each camp is just a single large monster and only Warwick can clear without dying.

Riot did the same thing with the jungle at the start of season 3. They killed a fotm jungler just about every patch for some time.
It's a little expectable. Giant sweeping changes don't come to the lanes in a season patch the way they do in the jungle, and it's not surprising that when a season patch hits suddenly the balance level of jungle champions is wildly different.
Not to excuse the Pantheon change, which does look like quite the Olaf-ing, but more that it's not very surprising to see it happen. It's just upsetting.

Admittedly some of those changes were needed, though. Like when Nunu was must-ban because consume did about double the damage of smite at early levels and he just ran around stealing all your camps.
But yeah, these Lee and Panth changes seem like they're going in entirely the wrong direction.

Yeah Pantheons ult got Nocturne'd~(PBE) I think its kinda sad that these global and pseudo global ults are getting nerfed and nerfed again. It made some champions more unique and some games more exciting. Meanwhile champion like Gangplank who got real global ult are not getting changed~ Just Nocturne his ult too and rework his E for gods sake~.

GP ult is dumb and needs to have the RNG taken away.
GP is one of my favorite champion concepts and has all sorts of reasons that make something that is potentially super cool awful in practice. He's one that I think actually does need a rework.
