Kiting is easier with more AS because attack speed speeds up the attack animation as well as the attack delay and does so in the same proportion. This means that you have the choice to attack more and move the same distance and attack less and move more when you have more attack speed.
If you have a large amount of hard AS scaling (like the combination of silver bolts and +AD from vaynes ultimate) you can definitely go heavy into attack speed and be effective.
The downsides is that a Vayne with silver bolts maxed and an attack speed heavy build is very poor in DPS without her ult up. A BT first, Q max Vayne is strong regardless of whether or not her ult is up so long as your positioning is strong enough that you do not need the super kite which the increased attack speed (and slow/hp active) that BotRK brings.

7-3 in placements, that last game was a heartbreaker.
Won lane pretty hard on Leona, but other lanes had a couple bad counterganks. Traded 4 for ace a few times midgame and one dragon to each side, team was communicating well and warding. Decided to risk a Baron after we picked off their jungle Vi and managed to get it, but we lost 2 people when disengaging. Got pushed really hard, but only lost an inhib tower and killed their Vayne and Mundo when we pushed out. Took out 2 of their inhibs, but homeguard Mundo raped our Cait and me when we were getting out. Our Yasuo backdoored their third inhib then tele'd bot and dunked their Vayne when I respawned. Our Olaf got caught while doing Dragon, we had bad focus and got 3 of them really low-- if we had killed even one we could've won I think.
We lose naked mid inhib and a nexus turret before Olaf respawns, then we push them out, I catch Vayne again and we force their Vi to back. We begin baron dancing while Yasuo splitpushes bot, Vi flashes over pit, dashes and ults our Cait, her GA gets popped, Mundo sits on her. Me, Olaf and Ahri run back to defend, Yasuo takes out a nexus turret and backs to help defend. They push us, Yasuo tele's to their base and finishes off their nexus turret. They ignore us and start focusing our nexus turrets, I EQ Vayne, Olaf trucks her down and Ahri charms Mundo into base turret, but our nexus dies when theirs has 9 hp left.
