The question never was about "which sheen item do I buy" but more "do I buy a sheen item at all" - cause if you're not getting a sheen item, you probably aren't even buying an offensive item at all. Nasus doesn't need any offensive items to do sick damage. And at some point late in the game, LW is going to do way more damage than any other offensive item you tack onto him.
unless you are mrtolkien and get a quick LW naturally.
After a lot of weird games I've been placed into plat 1. I take that as a huge accomplishment considering rankeds are down on EUW for 1 hour every two hours.

This is probably not true for a typical game.
Triforce probably adds more damage than LW unless you're at some stupid 70 minute long 1000 stacks point. Just a guess.

if you're going to play a squishy ap mid with no/poor mobility aren't there plenty of champs like syndra, zyra, and ziggs that are just straight up better than her?

LW doge best doge though. Tank nasus is a crutch for the weak, real men know that killing them before they kill you if the best method.

Lux is definitely not as squishy as Syndra, Ziggs and Zyra. And is better at sieging than Syndra and Zyra.

Ziggs has an escape and much more damage then lux.
Syndra has a stun with longer range then lux's snare, and much more burst damage. She's also more mobile (no cast animations op >.<)
Lux pretty much can't do anything against tanks, as she just doesn't do enough sustained damage to be meaningful to them, and cant reach past them into the back line easily.
The one thing Lux has going for her is if your team gets in a good position with tanks in front, and most of your team in pertty much a line, she can make her tanks gods with shield spam.

ok by just guessing you don't get anywhere. let us estimate:
assumption: 400 damage on Q total (thats about 200 cs + base damage) enemy 150 armor (about 1 armor item + runes + base etc.)
damage with triforce on Q: ~400 + ~180 ~= 580 after reduction taking spirit fire into account you deal half damage against a 100 armor target: ~580 / ~2 ~= 290
damage with lw: ~400 + 40 ~= 440 damage after reduction + spirit fire is against a 57.5 armor target which reduces damage for about 25%: ~440 * 0.75 = 330.
You definitely get more damage/gold from LW after just 1 bigger armor item. squishy champions often have 1 minor armor item like zonyas or GA which gives them about 130 armor in total so you still deal more damage with your Q. Things only get better in favor of LW the more stacks you get on Q and the more armor some of the bruisers get.
So, after all these years I can legitimately play trundle again? Jengle/toplane? Botrk + iceborn/triforce + funfire + SV? From jungle mebbe golem + botrk + tank?
On January 19 2014 02:50 kongoline wrote: lets not forget lw is a lot cheaper than triforce
that's what I'am saying. the damage you gain form triforce/lw early on is about the same with mb a bit more on LW for Q and more damage on Triforce on extended trades because of crit and AS, but LW gets better with every minute while triforce stays about the same and costs way more. for 1500 gold you can buy a giants belt + cloth + consumables or a cowl + consumables. LW + Cowl/(belt + cloth) + more consumables sounds much stronger than trinity force in my book.

50 armor reduces damage by 33%, no clue how more armor reduces less damage :p

allright thats true sry. with 33%+ you have about the same damage on Q as with trinity. but that's just nitpicking because those numbers are estimates and the argument still stands: you do about the same damage with LW even early in the game, it costs 1500 gold less so you hit an earlyer timing and can farm up tank items, while the cost efficiency of LW grows faster as Triforce as the game progresses.

This is so very wrong.
Nasus has 116 AD at level 18. 200 stacks would give him 310 bonus Q damage.
So a Triforce Q would do 703 damage after averaging 10% crit, and a LW Q would do 466 damage.
Spirit Fire is armor reduction, not armor pen, so is counted before % penetration. Your 150 armor target has 110 armor vs. Trinity and 71.5 armor vs. LW.
So your Trinity Q does 330 damage and your LW Q does 270 damage.
Factoring the attack speed and assuming 40% CDR since that's good on Nasus, your DPS vs. this target: With Trinity: 234 With LW: 202
Not to mention the 30 AP on Trinity increases your E damage by 36 and your R damage by 4.5% max HP.
