Being good at convincing your team to follow your lead is part of being good at solo q. Conversely you could get good at split push tops or tops that are good with trinity if you don't want to rely on your team as much, but if you have good communication skills I wouldn't say that tanky tops can't carry just the same. | ||

I really liked the fact that she was open about being a mercenary and just working for whichever city-state brought the best salary, the way it was done (if you remove the corny "Noxus sent assassins after her but she's dispatched every single one of them" line) gave material to talk about the ethics of the Institute and the way things work. But Riot has seemingly moved anywhere and everywhere as long as it's away from mentioning the League (aside from "that place where all the champions get to meet each other conveniently") and more importantly the Institute of War ever since the Kalamanda build-up. Which sucks are when they themselves established it as the nexus of political balance and influence within all of Valoran, and put numerous hooks regarding the dubious objectives and ways of handling the situations of the League and its people in general. Better say how Nunu and Willump are close and how Trundle is one med-sized troll leading his tribe thanks to his big magical weapon that allowed him to defeat his rivals. | ||

When I have a good lead top I find it a good idea to randomly gank the midlane and take Dragon afterwards. I don't think losing the top turret is a big deal at all - You can get one back really easily if you are ahead and you have more space to kill the opposing laner. I find that after ganking the enemy mid around 2 times my mid suddenly begins overpowering them despite falling behind to begin with. You also get the mid turret for free on even a semi-successful gank(you force them to retreat). Ganking bottom lane is a lot more difficult and too much of a bother in almost all cases. Oh and I play nothing but Fiora so this might not be applicable on any useful champions anyway. Pretty successful in Gold III. | ||

I've been playing a lot of top lane Shyvana to be more specific and she is excellent at split pushing so that is something I do when I feel like my team isn't at risk of getting caught 4v5. Shyvana does so well in lane that I think it's clouding my judgment on her on overall game impact. It doesn't matter if I go 3-5 and 0 in lane if I don't offer anything for teamfights. I'm not sure if I'm playing teamfights wrong or if shyvana is just useless outside of lane. I really like how she plays in lane though, what are some good tanky top laners that are also lane bullies that I can pick up? I can think of Renekton for one, what other champs should I pick up? | ||
