"Screw actually finding facts and things RIOT IS KILLLING eSPORTS." RIOT definitely didn't move an LCS week for TI3. Nope. Didn't happen.
Moving LCS was as much in their own interest. TI3 would leech viewers, I'd definitely have watched TI3 over LCS.
I do think that the anti-Riot jerk is a bit much at times, but then again, Riot is the biggest player and a good amount of skepticism doesn't do any harm. Riot isn't perfect and they haven't delivered (yet) on quite a few promises (replays, certain bugs, etc), some of which have been around for a loooong time.
I don't really like Riot's technical side (server problems, bad client, no replays), but I love their E-sports side and community interaction right now (with a few exceptions).

That's a pretty hilarious conspiracy they've got going there in SC2 General.
Maybe it's just me, but I figure there's probably better ways for Riot to spend their money but who knows. h8ers gon h8

No DotA2 or SC2 on the PC's at PAX. Some bad communication from PAX staff made people think that Riot is blocking both those games from being played on the public pc's. Now PAX let people know that only LAN games are allowed to be played on those PC's, and that Riot paid for bandwith to have LoL played. Neither Blizz nor Valve paid, and thus Riot gets blamed.

I guess Dota2 and SC2 aren't on the free use computers at PAX, and the rumor is that Riot paid Penny Arcade to not include these games.
There's a quote in the thread by a PAX admin saying that large online only games at the event the owners of the game are required to help pay for the PAX internet (since they're going to be using such a large portion of the bandwidth) or provide a venue only server, and Riot did this but Blizzard and Valve didn't, and that's why LoL is on the computers and Dota2 / SC2 aren't.
But the thread still has quite a bit of Riot is evil in it.

Dota 2 and SC2 are missing from the public computers at PAX while LoL is included, so everyone has decided that Riot paid PAX to only put LoL on the computers.
With about 5 minutes of research people have now found out that PAX requires either local servers or "sponsored bandwith" (cash) to allow F2P games at PAX
On September 02 2013 00:21 Uracil wrote:from the dota2 reddit Show nested quote +"Another requirement that we started making a few PAX's ago, for the sake of bandwidth conservation, is that all Freeplay and Tournament games that are played, must have locally install-able servers or sponsored bandwidth. This did cut out a few titles (such as Battlefield 3) that simply didn't offer a local server option. Other companies have in the past opted to sponsor internet. That is why there are a few titles that are popular in the eSports arena that are not being played. It's not that we don't want them, just that we have to ensure that the network experience for both the Freeplayer's and the BYOC users meets expectations." So Riot paid for their bandwidth valve and blizzard didn't.
Riot paid for it (what with the NA playoffs being right there and the build up to Worlds in effect) while Valve/Blizz didn't (as it's the down season for Dota2 and Blizz having just concluded a WCS).
You have to remember that Riot is the EA of Esports, no matter what they do it is automatically evil.

That isn't really fair since EA Literally killed NFL2k, one of the best games of all time.

I dunno about that comparison, considering EA is ACTUALLY evil. They've killed a fair number of good games, and origins is awful.

Origin has had pretty good sales aswell as the latest humble EA bundle. I've warmed up to them, even though I'm still weary of their motives.

In my mind the fact that sc2 isn't there sorta confirms that it isn't malicious, why would Riot give a fuck about sc2 that game isn't even close to their level.
(in terms of $$$ or esports views or w/e it is they are supposedly trying to prevent, obviously sc is a decent game to play)

LoL vs DotA vs SC2 is basically our surrogate console war, as the actual console war is boring.

Reading a bit more, SC2 was installed in some PCs (not on all because not that popular + HDD restrictions). PAX forum had a post from the show manager saying Dota will be up tomorrow (apparently they found the bandwidth)

They made a FPS Syndicate. Pure evil doesn't even begin to describe them.

To be real for a minute if Riot is guilty of this it would not be the first time, so it is possible, and it's actually too bad they feel the need to do this kinda thing. Although in this case I'm still going to go with I doubt it because Penny Arcade is too buddy buddy with Valve to let this sort of thing happen.

Yeah, as one PAX Admin (or something) put it "This is ridiculous. Do you know how bad an idea it would be to purposefully get on the bad side of Blizzard or Valve?"
Paraphrased, but it basically said that.

Morello talked yesterday about how replays are essentially done, they just don't have the infrastructure to support them yet (since the client-side doesn't have all the data needed to run the game and even replays will have to go through Riot servers.)
“We definitely didn't work on that feature for six months of development time to not put it in.”
