I've always felt really underwhelmed by the damage of most AP mids, which is kind of weird considering I play support. I've been enjoying Zyra more as a support (finally getting how to make her work, thank goodness), but I played her as an AP mid and felt pretty weak. Like, I went Chalice/Boots -> Sorc -> Dcap -> Guise (would have finished Athene's and then Liandry's and Rylai) , but my damage sucked. I was barely killing the enemy Kha6 when he was diving our AD, and he had like no MR and only a Cleaver.
Should I have been buying Dorans to force early on? I went pretty equal in lane despite getting ganked a couple times b/c I did a good job kiting and bringing them low and then finishing someone off with my passive. I just have a natural hatred of Dorans because of limited gold on support.
Also, burning bush Zyra makes me chuckle.
Zyra mid feels more like a control mid, with your big CC ult and plants if they stick around, kinda like Morgana. I'd probably take DRx2 over Chalice, I don't remember having many mana problems on Zyra.

About burning Zyra, the rylai liandry is standart on her I think, elder lizard as said looks forced to fit the theme, it's the banner of command i'm interested in. How impactfull if the minion passive? does it affect other summons (elise spiderlings?)? any maths lying around about the dps increase of it vs a "normal" ap item. Also are you even going to be in passive range of your plants so is it possible gameplay wise?
Also thanks for making an effort to decrease the amount of offtopic that was going here, and let's admit it these last few days have been filled with it. Made reading somewhat slow and uninteresting. In fact the only good moments this thread had these lasts days has been Xildark introdduction and stupidity (dat name) coming in and shitting on scrubs

I can tell you now, that its highly likely the OT thread will just turn into what GD is now and GD will end up abandoned. So you'll end up with an OT thread with everyone spamming the shit out of useless crap (because no restrictions hue) with general LoL discussion lightly mixed in. The main traffic will be there so others will be forced to post questions there because nobody even looks at GD anymore.
Then what will you do? Force people to used GD? :D
I think this off-topic trend deserves a couple weeks to a month of harsh moderating (warns into bans) and it will clear itself up, like Neo said alot of us have been here for years and maybe we (you.) are just slacking a bit and need a kick up the ass. Restructuring the way the sub-forum works over it is a bit of a wonky fix to do immediately imo.

Riot isn't even doing some bullshit 2-week patch cycle now, there's plenty of time for proteams to adapt properly to new environments
If you don't think pro players have comfort champions than you just are out of touch. Imagine how huge of a nerf Rumble would have to get to see no LCS play, or Shen. Ryze is a little below that in popularity (because, by the way, those champs should have been nerfed instead/along with Ryze), but people play him a lot in 2 positions. If he isn't picked up at all, right after the nerfs, that means he has been, like I said, castrated.

Plus, some pros can force certain champs to work even when it's not favorable. Just look at all the specialty champs of various top pro players.

Btw doesn't the ryze range nerf make him more consistent? I didn't even realise there was such a big difference between the ranges of all his spells before.

If you watch the Artosis interview by Thorin, there's a talk about the difference between players who go through stages of being good, and the truly great that are always good. Very relevant to this discussion.

They did last year (that is, if you're talking about what I think you're talking about). I remember one member from each team all just screwing around in a 5v5, it was particularly memorable because of dat Maknoob Teemo. Idk if they streamed it or not though, even though they started it before they let us into the stadium >:x
Definitely agree they should do it again though, if the players really get into it then it becomes a blast.

It's a love it or hate it change. Weird seeing people get so excited for the removal of one of the main reasons I love GD and TL LoL as a whole ha, different strokes I suppose. Also fwiw imo TL LoL and the rest of TL are like two completely different sites.

So wait, Ryze was OP? Like seriously? I know this sounds weird coming from a silver player, but Riot thinks that Ryze was more deserving of nerfs than other mid laners? I still think Ori should be nerfed before Ryze is nerfed.

I don't mind the fact that Dyrus and Voy are kinda crappy now. What I mind is that Froggen's Anivia is worse than Froggen's Jayce (even though he is still a top Mid in EU). Or like, Wick'd's terrible Rumble, is better than his Irelia.
Even though Shy is still a beast, I still want to see him play singed and jax.

Just a random poster who lurks most of the time but posts here and there: don't want to see a new thread. Want heavier moderation when people take off-topic too far. I'm fine with random discussions that pop up here and there. I'm not fine when it drags for pages and pages and starts up anew every couple of days. We get it; we're all special and part of a magical clique... which isn't interesting, enlightening, or funny for anybody else to read.
Keep posting standards high even on off-topic stuff and make sure it doesn't drag long. Bans/warning as needed and trust the mod's judgment when they hand it down.

On a none meta note...
I guess ahq was eliminated from the SAE Season 3 Championship qualifiers. Pretty surprising considering how well they had been doing recently.
