This is relevant for your Skarner discussion and your grudge with Guitar. If someone isn't understanding what i'm saying i will tell them that they aren't understanding. I'm sorry if that offends people. i even tried to clarify beforehand in case it was me, turns out it was not. as for guitar, if he wants to bring up a game he played long ago against me which clearly we are the two best people to decide what works for top lane based solely on our match. then i can bring up his team's laughable LCS run. He knows his team isn't performing well, So if he wants to talk about a 1v1 he beat me in to try to shame me, i can discuss the shame his team is feeling. besides he hasn't shown one thing in the year i've been reading lol GD to make me respect him, other than his policy toward recruitment, which is quite admirable.

Real quick while I'm heating up my popcorn, does anybody use the TL teamspeak here? I've popped in a few times but haven't seen too many people on, so wasn't sure how active it is.

They really should rename it to the US east server though. It's in Miami, and I get 15 ping. This compared to their LA server where I average 100+. I just wish there were more English speakers. Whenever I type anything in English, all 4 people on my team call me a gringo.
So they should re-name it US east despite the fact that people call you gringo for using English.
wat
Edit: Admittedly that is kind of US eastish but if you go to the latin american server this is probably expected :[

Now that I'm Gold5 though, I might start trying Elise/Rengar top so that I can go top as well--but I feel that mid and jungle allow me to do far more in a game.
My viewpoint is still the same--I have the goal of getting Diamond 1 -> Challenger. Settle for nothing less--however, my approach has changed significantly. I have learned how much the League community stresses solo queue and the drastic difference in the way that League players improve compared to how Dota players improve. I feel that League's ecosystem is far worse to improve in rapidly, but, as an NA based player and League's position as the easiest of the games, I have the best chance of being a pro gamer here. (This is the same general thinking I posted earlier in this thread with.)
I have been constantly examining how I play my heroes (specifically Syndra of course) and adjusted my play significantly since I started posting here, and as a result, have started my steady progression that I will commit and continue until I reach Diamond 1.
Regardless of it being true or not, don't you think it's tactless to come to a League forum and pronounce it as the easiest of the games? (out of what games?)
I used to play wc3 Dota, and regarded LoL as an easy game with cartoonish graphics... I now realize how hard this game is and how much there is to think about even though there's less pure mechanics. No matter the game, going pro is hard.
Solo queue is not stressed, it is a bare minimum that you should demonstrate if you want to be a progamer. Teams like The Salad Bar didn't play solo queue and were/are competitive.
We are now advanced enough into Season 3 that you can divide everyone into 2 categories:
1. People who have never reached challenger and are incapable of doing so.
You should not have progamer aspirations here.
2. People who have reached challenger or its equivalent before removal of visible Elo or who are capable of doing so.
Basically everyone on an LCS team is here. If you see some pros who appear to be stuck in Diamond, most of the time, it is because they don't care. Out of the old guard teams like CLG/TSM, everyone was at one point or another at the very top of the ladder. They have nothing to prove in solo queue, they treat solo queue games like I treat my double jungle normal games with friends. If everyone tried equally hard in solo queue, the ladder would look very different.
When you think about it, reaching challenger is not very impressive. This pool of players is actually quite large. Even as a middling Diamond 1, through variance and luck, or your best champions get buffed, or whatever, you could conceivably hit challenger. Having progaming aspirations without reaching challenger is like going to Korea to compete in SC2 when you aren't even GM in NA.
...
Playing support or playing all the roles is a great way to improve your understanding of the game. Don't do anymore of that Duo mid shit.

I am having some serious success recently with Darius top purple side.
I just hit gold 5 and basically every game I can wait for them to facecheck the brush en route to lane after covering blue. Auto > auto > W > auto auto basically forces every other top laner out of lane, sometimes including a blown flash. If they stand and trade they just die (only maybe riven can match the dmg at lvl 1). Then I have like a 2 level advantage where i can just flash hook for a free fb when they come back to lane. People seriously underestimate the darius early level deeps!
Also i am yet to find a truly rough matchup when i start reju + 5 hp pots + 1 mana pot + ward. You can even bully teemo post lvl 3.
I imagine as i get higher elo people will see this sort of cheese coming more and will stop trying to trade with me in melee range... Oh well, abusing it while i can!
|
Be careful of relying on that facecheck. Later on people never go through that brush unless they see their opposite laner appear. Don't think it's ever healthy to rely on cheese to climb up

Later on people don't go through that bush if they can't win the fight at level 1*
Generally once you get higher, people know power levels well enough to make a judgement call on whether or not to go into that bush.

The sheer amount of people playing Leagues make it not the easiest game. If it was indeed easy and 32million people play it a month you have basically no chance whatsoever to distinguish yourself and become pro. You should hope it is instead very hard.

Have you versed an udyr yet?

skarner was strong when you could abuse R wasting flashes and shurelyas was really strong, so flash ulting was super obnoxious and had very little counterplay.
now that both of those are fixed they need to revert nerfs like the w and q nerfs and make his e useful and he'll be strong again

Yea I meant if you can't win the 1v1 but you see the laner then you can go through the brush fine.
