In lower tier play, team fights almost never happen, and the fights that do happen, are based upon someone getting caught, it's very hard for one to learn team fighting if it's always mashed up in 3v4/4v5 engages where people join into the fight (mostly related to mid-game). Studying korean teams, watching how they peel, how their AP and AD position is, in my opinion, a very good way of understanding how actual 5v5 is meant to be played.

Maybe it isn't beneficial to play ARAMs if I want to improve, but can or will it be detrimental?

Playing teamfights in pubs vs. in competitive is fundamentally different because of what champs can "get away with" based on how their team plays. It's actually quite clear when you watch a pubstar AD transitioning into competitive play (e.g. GodJJ when he first started playing for TPS), they very clearly don't have a handle on how much their team allows them to do in a fight. This is not an individual skill issue--as GodJJ is clearly not an inferior AD to other Asian ADs when it comes to playing pub games. Rather, it is that your expectations of your teammates when you're in perfect communication with them is just vastly different from when you are playing in solo queue.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that these numbers don't actually add up at all! Did have some minor success though. Buying $25 ($10 x 2, $5 x 1) gives you 3410, which is 487x5 + 975 Alternatively, $15 ($5 x 3) gives you 1950, which is 975x2. Multiples of these obviously work as well. For anyone who hasn't done the math, the number ending in a 7 is what really limits the combinations, as the only numbers that can make it a multiple of 5 through addition are numbers that aren't a multiple of 5. These are only available in the 487 sales, a 292 sale, or the 1846 2-week IP boost. So unless you're really in need of 3 585RP champs on sale or a 2-week IP boost, then you need to buy a multiple of 5 of the 975 things on sale. 1350/675 skins becoming a common thing will probably make this less than ideal, though. Best thing I could find for those was this: $30 ($20 x 1, $10 x 1) gives 4180, which is 487x5 + 675x2(or1350x1) + 395x1 (790 champ on sale :s) Hopefully this'll help at least 1 person, although it's easy enough to work out on your own. EDIT: If you wanted to burn that 1 RP, just replace [487x5] with [487x3 + 975x1] in any of them.

I'm leveling a second character (I'd say I'm silver at best) and apart from being a fun and stress free break from playing normal 5s, it feels like it helps to get a feel for champions I don't usually play and it improves my 'teamfight awareness' so to say. Thoughts? strictly to understand champs, absolutely none of the "gameplay" will transfer to summoner's rift. no, not even the skillshot practice, as in the real game the set-up isn't just a long lane ^_^ Disagree, it helps with learning general basics of teamfighting. Yup I think that it's really good at teamfight positioning, teamfight target focusing and also at picking moments to engage on vulnerable opponents and also saving teammates. Also requires adaptability because of the wacky builds. I think that ARAM is really useful for teamfighting, it's helped me out a ton. I definitely think that 2 20min ARAMs teach you more about teamfights than a single 40min ranked game where you will maybe have 1 or 2 full teamfights the entire game Oh and that RP buying stuff makes no sense, just buy the biggest bundle you can with your budget, the bonus RP are far more important than having 0 RP left over, you can also use them if you buy more RP in the future

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME BEING A CLG FAN WAS THIS HARD?!?! Also Ecco bossing Vulcan was glorious. Hilarious watching their "Boo hoo we're so underrated. We excel in picks/bans." video before watching them get bossed by the bottom team largely by being completely and utterly outpicked. VES are really starting to grow on me with Ecco and Vileroze. Hope they stay up for 2014.

Also, the one huge problem with ARAM is that most of the time there isn't an all out 5v5 that starts with both at Full HP (or even close). Getting executed is far too hard.

Kha zix/Kennen J4 Xerath Caitlyn/Ashe Zyra (Team fight control) Malphite Xin/Sej Lissandra Varus/MF Nami (Heavy initiation) I am open to any criticism and hate. + Show Spoiler + Well those two champs play completely different and need different comps mostly. Xerath just wants a decently tanky front line, anything that holds people in place, and anything that makes people stack up. Amumu, Cho, Darius, Diana, Jarvan, Leona, Malph, Maokai, Naut, Rammus, Sej, Sona, Thresh, Zyra, Varus Khazix/Cait bring really nothing for him unless you are running a poke comp and just going for towers (which is very dangerous if they just engage on you), xin is strait bad as he scatters people , xerath is all about how many people you can ult Lissandra needs someone to do good damage and follow up on her initiate. She works with the classic wombo combo champs just like Xerath, but they have to be able to follow her in, and need to do more damage than peel. Amumu, Fiddle, Hec, Jarvan, Malph, Riven, Rumble, trynd, Vlad, Wukong, Zac, Aaatrox, Jax, zyra So your first team doesn't make much sense to me, Kha has no synergy really, Kennen is an ok pick but basically you are saying you need to devastate a teamfight with just his and xerath ults, after that you will have no front line. I would be more inclined to go tankier, as xerath provides tons of damage. Varus is much stronger with xerath than Cait because of his CC. The second team I would def run MF over Varus for the AOE damage to follow up the initiate. Malph is ok but not especially high damage, Rumble or Wukong would be better her IMO. So it seems our team lacks knowledge about top laners. Thanks for the help! Maybe you could criticize more of our comps? Vlad Nasus Karthus HyperCarry Janna (This is more of a late game turtle comp) Elise/Malph Jarvan/Amumu Orianna Varus/MF/ Lulu/Sona ( This is another heavy wombo combo) Shen/Hec Naut Viktor Draven/Varus Nami/Leona (This is just a fun heavy CC team)

Anyone know of a free service? I don't care about keeping cards or w/e, just want to play drafts with my brothers and friends. Such good times. Tappedout and ccgdeck are both good drafting websites. Tappedout tends to be buggy more often, but I like their ui better. For playing you can download and use cockatrice, but you'll have to manually update the database which is pretty easy. You can just google that.

You could pick up something functional (but not much else) from Ikea for under 40, but for a nice chair you're looking at around 80 minimum I'd say. I actually really like folding chairs. Right now I'm subletting an empty apartment for the summer, so I'm sitting on a box of school junk I have. $100 is as far as I could see myself going, but only in a "This chair is slightly more than I want to pay, but it is REALLY nice for the price" fashion. I wish I could go cheapo cheapo mode, but health issues make it a waste of money currently. My chair was 100 euros and I still think it could be better. I couldn't use a 50 euro chair at all though, if I used the computer this much with a shitty chair my back would be in shambles by now. I recommend not being too stingy about it, you will be using it for a long time and it's very important for your health, one of the most important pieces of furniture you will have I'm only going up to 100 because it's all I can afford. If I had the ability to get a nicer chair than that, believe me, I would.
