wtf is Xisor even talking about Flame was picked up because he was a solo q hero.
I do agree with Yango that a lot of people feel pressure to play solo q instead of 3-5 man q normals because they want to "prove they are good". however I don't think it's 100% wrong either, I think it was Scrip who said it yesterday, Solo q will improve you as a player because of the variety of situations it puts you in, thats not to say a guy who only plays with his friends is bad but mabye he would not know how to play with a farm jungler like meteos or vice versa.
tl;dr You can be plenty good at the game just by playing a lot even if it is normals, but at the same time solo q will improve your play.

PHP is a terrible language and it should die in a pit For example, what is the output of: $count=0 for ($i='a'; $i<='z'; $i++) { $count++ } echo $count + Show Spoiler +675
'z'++ in php evaluates to 'aa', which is less than 'z'. The loop continues going with $i being set to 'aa', 'ab', 'ac', etc. until it finally gets to 'zz', and 'zz'>'z'.
EDIT: I think I'm off by 1, but I don't have a PHP interpreter on me so someone double-check my work 676! but the real question is why are you using strings as iterators anyway? Wouldn't it be 702? AA to ZZ is 26*26 but you have to add in A_ to Z_ for another 26. (26 * 26) + 26 = 702 Yeah it's been a while since I've actually fired up PHP, and I don't have it installed on this computer. The answer is probably way off but as long as you answer something other than 26 I'll count it right :D My original answer is probably wrong, it could be 702 like you say or on second thought it could stop iterating at 'za' and not 'zz' and make the original answer right again. Or possibly a new version of PHP fixed this 'bug'. anyway the point is PHP is stupid and you should avoid programming in it if at all possible.
(The original source for this oddity is http://www.phabricator.com/docs/phabricator/article/PHP_Pitfalls.html#all-676-letters-in-the-a)
Why would you use a string as an iterator? This code would work fine in C/C++, since chars and strings are two separate concepts and chars are basically bytes so you can increment and compare them without any weird behavior.
So basically the main issue is why the hell does PHP let you increment a string?

This nami is sooo underwhelming.
That Varus's flash reaction was fucking insanely fast.

How could Trynd lane vs a fucking Teemo ? Was there 2v1 lanes ?

This actually sounds amazing.
For those of you that didn't read it carefully, it's basically a tournament where every champion on your team has to be wearing a skin that fits your team's theme

tl;dr You can be plenty good at the game just by playing a lot even if it is normals, but at the same time solo q will improve your play. he was picked up because he beat the coach in a bunch of solo queue. the coach of the team wasn't high elo. Solo queue exposed him to the team, but he wasn't picked up because of solo queue. and when he joined despite playing solo queue a lot, he was terrible and a liability. it took practice with a team for him to actually be good at the game. Playing solo queue doesn't improve your play better than normals, other than the mere existence of solo queue makes normals a trolly joke. If you are playing with 4 other people consistently you can practice any number of situations and improve in any number of ways. more efficiently and faster than solo queue. period.

Has this nami even hit more than 1 person with her ulti?

Hell, that's my preferred play mode and sometimes I can't argue with certain people about strategy because my solo Q rank is too low and they won't accept any other credential besides that. I mean that's sort of a weird example because people wouldn't scout pro players from random normal stacks in DotA either. But the point is that there's a judgment attached to someone's solo queue rating, and so there's a pressure for people to play solo queue when they actually enjoy those stacks more. You can say "if you don't like solo queue, don't play it" and in a sense that's true, but at the same time there are *definitely* people who feel pressured to play solo queue (or have a particular rating to prove themselves) when they don't enjoy it. Well, when I said "competitive team," I didn't want to limit it to pro teams.
There are plenty of posts on PvP and some here where they're looking to build a team to compete in small cups or play arranged 5s, and almost all of them have plat/diamond solo Q minimum.
I can understand it being a filter if they're being flooded with requests and they need a quick way to determine unskilled players vs skilled players, but the reality is that they get like 3 or 4 silver/gold players that are mildly interested but ashamed of their rank, and instead they just decide to not form their team. I think that's a huge impediment to getting 5s off the ground.
