They scrim each other a lot, but they aren't sister teams.

The best comparison would be the EG/Alliance relationship in DotA.
Also teams with similarly different results.

A lot, if not most, of the Koreans have two teams with drastically different results. TSM is pretty average in the NA scene. Look at CJ Entus last season. Blaze dominated all season long until the finals whereas Frost looked pretty average in the Korean scene. You could find even more ridiculous examples with the two MVPs or Najin rosters.

you mean MVP? Neither LG IM team is particularly notable although I guess you could say #2 doesn't have a mid laner that was 1v1'd by an Orianna as Ezreal.....

The best comparison would be the EG/Alliance relationship in DotA. Also teams with similarly different results. EG and Alliance are 2 separate identities, and they're like FXO Korea and FXO, which have nothing to do with each other I think.
I was wondering about TSM and C9 because it was speculated that C9 was meant to be a sister team of TSM and was gonna move in TSM house. They are only in different proxy organizations because of LCS's rules.
And btw, does Altec stream? I've never seen the kid play before. People say he is good, but how good is he compared to current LCS NA adcs?

I would not be surprised if the rules might change anyway. Especially if Curse tries to do exactly what TSM did. It still confuses me why Riot doesn't let NA/EU have two active teams under the same organization but is perfectly fine with Korea doing it.

Different productions/studios behind the decisions. In Korea, it's essentially Kespa/OGN in charge, and they don't really care about certain brands having an overwhelming show/force.
Riot NA had this thing where they attempted to force brands to have a singular product so the scene isn't just the same brands. It backfired on them as it seems to have killed a lot of the amateur scene. If there was a mistake they'll take back, you can be sure that will be the first one.
From seeing reports that hotshotgg is interested in creating an amateur team, CRS Academy aiming for season 4, Dan Dinh looking to create an amateur team as well, I think the decision might be changing soon.

Would love to see a 16 team lcs, with similar group format as ogn tourney. I really like how prepped each match feels in ogn.

Changes are good, but I think there still should be a limit number of teams an organization can own though. 5 or 10 teams under one single organization doesn't seem either healthy or productive at all.

I can't imagine that happening unless like Coca-Cola and shit get into eSports.
Just having two teams means you're supporting at least 14-16 players not to mention coaching staff, managers, etc.

I doubt we would see something that crazy, but at least allowing sister teams would be nice.
Edit: Also LCS needs more teams in general. Right now too many teams make it into the playoffs, makes the regular season feel pretty meaningless.
